Friends, Romans, Countrymen, and Countrywomen (Lotus) lend my your ears,
While at the dealer to finally (attempt number 4) get the mother of all rattles fixed ( above the nav screen), I amazingly got approval to get my steering wheel replaced because the top of the wheel was getting janky. I figured it might fall under the wear/tear category. Amazingly, no. So now I am contemplating the shift knob. Mine, as it seems any, has taken on a greenish hue. It seems the previous owner liked to use hydrochloric acid as hand soap and did not adhere to the 10 and 2 steering wheel position. Amazing considering I purchased the car with 28,000 miles that it would wear so quickly. Oh well. The reason for my reticence is I want to foster the warm and fuzzy relationship I have gained with my advisors. I know warranty work pays them nothing so I just want to keep the love. On the other hand, I am blessed to have 4 different dealerships within an hours drive. Gotta be some advantage to living in God's waiting room right? Actually tried 3 out of 4 on the hell rattle. Big props to Infiniti of Tampa, even showed me the picture of why it was making so much noise. I digress. So the question is: pay the $200.00 at the parts counter or roll the dice?CheersMark
