I've gone from stock s13, to MOMO x 3, then NISMO x 2 but I found a shift knob I truly love. It's the Hammer shift knob...made by Mitsubishi for DSM's (that's Eclipse and Eagle Talon's). I'm sure some of you know about this shift knob but for those that don't...it is the bomb. Looks OEM, leather wrapped and weighs in at a full pound. Oh yeah...and it's under $20 bucks (before shipping...it's $30 shipped). Really feels nice with my short shifter...very smooth. The knob is heavy...4 to 5 times heaver then my Nismo. Plus it's got a large feel to it...just can't be more happier with it. Here is where I got it: http://www.amsperformance.com/...age=1

Here is a shot of it still in the Mitsu bag:

Here it is installed:

The Nismo shift knob I had was like this, the black one:

The main reason in changing from the Nismo was because in the summer it gets hotter then lava and in the winter it feels like an ice cube...and it would stay hot or cold for a long time...so I wanted to change over to a leather knob. Hope some of you get one of these to try out...you will not be disappointed.

I think people call it 'Hammer Knob.' It flows well with your leather boot and stuff. You should have tried Nismo titanium knob. I had to get it once I had tried it on my buddy's car.

I wanted one but they are a little high priced...was thinking of getting the GT one, the black one made of rubber.

How boring I have the silver NISMO on the far left in that picture. Extremely hot/cold shift knobs only encourage faster shifting!!

Have the rubber GT Nismo on my coupe. Wouldn't want any other. Never too hot/cold and feels great. Is just a little on the small side, but not bad (I just have XL hands).

wmdavis,I wish you created a project thread for your car. Pics are in several different threads now, and it'd be nice to see all of them in one place.

My stock knob used to do that...all you have to do is put some Teflon tape on the threads and it will be fine.

Good idea. Think I'll work on it tonight.

Yeah it fits the 3000GT too but the "Hammer" is a special order shift knob...unless they put them on the 3000GT from the factory but I don't think they did. The difference is the Hammer weighs a pound, the reg. shift knobs aren't even half that.
