I just recently purchased another 1990 SOHC engine for my '90 240. I got the engine and transmission for $200 and it has 168K miles on it. Yeah I know it's 'high mileage'

I am just wanting to know your thoughts on the future plans of this engine.

Currently I am planning on rebuilding it for turbo purposes. I am also planning to spend my time doing it as I am now in college and won't have a lot of time or money...

I just need you suggestions and ideas for cheap (but high quality) parts for the rebuild and any ideas on the turbo.

Thanks A Lot Guys!

I know that Greddy is a little pricey... I am not wanting a turbo from them really. I am more wanting any companies to buy rebuild parts from b/c I am going to rebuild the engine first before I even look into turbocharging much.

But thanks for the feed back anyway!

honestly if you want high quality like you said, it's not going to be cheap.

I am thinking about getting a rebuilt turbo. I have a few ideas on where to get one and it would be good quality. Just not the 'name brand' that Greddy is. I plan on getting one that is a good brand and it might end up being a Garret or the like, but for cost issues it will most likely be a rebuilt one.

The manifold and othe pipes I plan on custom fabricating and/or having someone weld it for me.

I plan on getting either a new intercooler or one in really good condition from a salvage yard (and I will make sure that it is worth my money, and time finding one, so if I find a good price on a new one then that is what I'll use!)

I guess that my only real questions right now are what parts to buy for the rebuild and what companies to go through...
