So my sister was really sick last night. The easiest car to access was the vert, so I took it to go get her some medicine. Roads were kinda wet, It had rained a couple hours earlier. Anyway, I was making a right turn at a red light on the way back so I gave it a good amount of throttle so I could make the turn quickly. As soon as I started turning the tail end came out to play. Did a little drift around that turn and it was flippin amazing! I was at an angle for a good amount of time and then I brought it back to being straight. I know Drifting + Public Roads = FAIL, but it was unintentional. Anyway, I am freakin hooked now! I'm going to get out to a session as soon as I get MY vert on the road. Just thought I'd share the story of my "first time" ( )

You guys have any first time with the vert stories?

Your cherry has been popped!

Actually, Dexter and I just hit up a Speedrift event yesterday. He took the vert out there and did quite well. I didn't get too watch him too much because I was campaigning my new coupe and blowing up diffs. He already started a thread about it. I am sure we will get some better pics up soon.

I went to Walmart parking lot sometime when it rained after I got my car. It was fun and I wish I had manual back then.

My official first time was yesterday. Getting sideways on a corner is nothing compared to getting on course at an event!

i do that everyday!!! i have to make a u turn to get to my work and when i bring the vert i burn rubber on that u turn!!

krash i did that too and almost got myself killed. i was making a turn on a unfamiliar road and it had been raining all day. i timed it wrong and hit the gas just as i was making the turn. the car went sideways into the oncoming traffic lane. and just my luck a freaking truck was coming that way. luckily i knew what to do and had the car back on my lane but i think i had to go back home and change my underwear

It's so much fun, I go sideways on this one turn every single day to work, because it has the perfect angle to hit it at a mostly safe speed. There's also some room for error and no cars.

It's very addicting on dry pavement when you have smoke shows.

I'm just waiting on my auto to finally say enough, so I can start my manual swap.

Ahhh youth.. good to know you enjoyed it. Since the motor swap the one legged drifts happen more often.. by accident of course. Find a good open parking lot after a good rain and take a couple of cones (or something to mark your corners) and have some fun. Get a feel for the car. But most of all be safe.

Yea dex, as soon as I get my vert on the road I'm going to get to an event or at least a parking lot.

Yea thats basically what happened, but when I found out what was happening I tried to keep it going lol. The road I was turning on was only one way and traffic was scarce, it was like 11:30, but I'm definatley not going to go try to do that on purpose. To many things that can go wrong on a public road like that.

I can only imagine how it is on dry pavement with smoke effects dude! I'm awaiting some money for a clutch pedal for my swap. As college savings go up, Car funds go down....

The first month I had my car I spun 2 times on a public road. I spun again within the next few months. I don't do that anymore. Be carefull when the street is wet.
