On our Qx4s -- is the dashboard leather,.. or a simulated leather? Mine is a 2001 with a Black dashboard...And what is a treatment that will preserve it from the sunshine? WITHOUT making it all shiney like armoral???

I'm almost positive it's vinyl. I use Lexol cleaner (orange bottle) then lexol conditioner (brown bottle).

the 303 stuff is supposed to be better than AA, however, our '04 dash has a dull finish and does not accept protectant well. After applying 303, our dash remains as dull as it did prior to the application. However, my VW dash exibits a slight sheen after applying 303.

Back in the late 90s or early 2000s I purchased and AA product that was strictly for dash boards. It was a low sheen product and did not create the mirror like gloss that the standard AA does. I don't think this product exists anymore. I guess people need to "see" the product working and they want to see something shiney.

Griot's Garage should have some good stuff, but it can get pricey, not like the 303 stuff isn't.
