ok, i've searched the forums but i couldn't find anything relevant, although i swear i saw it soemwhere, but anywys, my issue is that the rear defogger is not working right. the two top bars work like they should but the rest of em do not, they melt almost nothing, basiclly, about 5mm worth, 2.5 up/down, thereabout, if at all, so how can i fix it? the weather here blows and i need to see in back of me, i dont want to crash my car, especially cause i just got it 2 weeks ago

you should try to find a repair kit. the defroster lines have probably been cut or scraped, like mine were when someone tried to scrape a sales tag off the window with a razor blade. its breaks the lines so they wont heat up after the break. but they make a repair kit. its some liquid with metal flakes that you brush on to fill the holes, you can use a test light to find where the breaks are. only thing is if you have tint you have to pull that off, and if you want to get tinted later make sure you get the repair stuff as thin as possible or it will make the tint bubble up very quickly. either that or get a new rear window.

Get too many broken lines on the window, and your remaining good lines may overheat and burn out in spots, from carrying too much juice. Best to fix broken lines promptly.

Get the stuff from PepBoys, etc. It goes on like nail polish. You may have to look really close to find the break in the line. Often its just a tiny discoloration. Also make sure the plastic harness connector is well connected; sometimes they vibrate loose.

Also note that the few lines at the very top are just a radio antenna on some cars. Look closely and you'll see the difference.
