Post

About 3 weeks ago I took my 90 Q into goodyear, all I wanted was for them to rotate my tires and bleed the brakes (they needed it pretty bad, i figured I would let the 'professionals' do it). I was talked into goodyear by my mother, as she is good friends or something with one of the managers

anyways, today I got really worried when my tires started to make an awful lot of noise, I could feel a very very slight vibration in the car also. Anyways I was going 45, a red light I step on the brakes... almost nothing at all, I push them all the way down and stop just in time I dont slam into the car in front of me, all the while the car jerks to the side while it brakes

Green, get going... about 700 feet - (im not a car person so forgive any mistakes I make) there are some horrible squeaks, I loose total control of the car, slam over the median (its right below the bumper... the air intake thing height) something shears the bottom sparks go flying all over, I keep trying to get out of the way of oncomming traffic, the left rear tire flys off into the way of the oncomming cars, this made turning impossible hitting hte gas throws me in their path again, i eventually end up on the sidewalk (on the wrong side of the road). I dodged a couple cars on my way to the sidewalk, almost hit some kids walking - the brakes wouldnt do crap, I couldnt steer out of anybodys way really, the worst feeling you could ever get at 45mph

I picked up my tire, put it next to my deathtrap. Looking at it 4 of the threads are totally worn to crap, there are no lugnuts and the piepan is missing (i looked for about an hour for lugnuts or a piepan). One of the thread things lugnuts connect to is missing, sheared right off, im thinking it was the only one with a fu**ing lugnut connected in the first place after they rotated my tires. The brakes have a few chunks of metal melted right into them, no wonder it wouldnt break worth a damn. Some metal thing that went around the entire wheel assembly (again, no idea what you people call this) is twisted to hell, half of it bent one way the ohter half inside teh breaks now

The actual wheel where the lugnuts connected is wasted, the new lugnuts almost didnt have anything to cover. The inside of the wheel (the metal parts) is scraped, I would say probably 5mm deep all around, and then you can see where it scraped its way while the wheel rolled off. There are no words, I almost died, some kids almost died, the towtruck guy put my fuc*ing wheel back on and said good luck (he couldnt park on the sidewalk, I was in front of a firezone or something), I made it the 1/4 mile home, it took 3500 RPM's to get the car to reverse (and it almost couldnt do that) and was running near the red fighting the drag all the way home

Sorry if it makes no sense, it happened about 2 hours ago now, I just got home (had to collect my tire from traffic, had to help jack the car up, actually get a phone to get the guy to help put a tire on... but he should have towed it)

What the hell do I tell the people at goodyear tomorrow? What should they replace, what should be done? My insurance wont cover *anything*. I should have known not to go to goodyear... Anyways I would take pics but my house is on a hill, I cant jack the car up. If/when I get to goodyear I will bring a camera and have them put everything away and inspect my car and post to show you guys what a mean. I know the tires messed up because there are deep grooves in the sidewalk where my car was driving on it and the road has chunks missing, I can only guess the bill to repaid... who should pay this?

On another note I had to tighten almost ALL of my lugnuts, it averaged 2 per tire that actually were on close to tight, a couple of the lugnuts had almost come off the other rear tire... the front ones were not doing so bad however

Pics tomorrow if they are open, if not I will be there the day after

Yikes!!!!!! Im really glad your OK.. How much body damage is done to the car (I would assume something has to be toast).. I would suspect that the suspension is completely torn apart, however once we get some pics we'll know for sure.

It sure sounds like they forgot to put the lugs back on after rotating the tires... Probably put one on to tighten the rest, got sidetracked and got back...

If your wheel fell off because they didnt put the nuts on, they should be responsible no questions asked and should compensate for your losses.....

I own a repair shop. What they probably did was snug the lug nuts(finger tight). They then let the car down on the ground. when the car is on the ground that is usually when they get their torque wrench and go around the car. they probably forgot to tighten that one....or even others! Sounds like they did a number on your brakes too. maybe they left a bleeder open? I have seen this happen before at other shops. get your ducks all in a row, it will probably take a lot of time and explaining, but you could have been really hurt. They have insurance for these things. It happens more often than you think! hold their feet to the fire! and for goodness sake, find a local independant who you can trust!

Have it taken to another shop or a dealer for a complete diagnosis and estimate of the cost to repair.

Then write letter to the first shop asking for the cost of repairs, your money back they charged and money for a rental car while your's is getting repaired.

Don't waste any time getting started, it will only hurt your position.

If they so much as whimper and give you any resistance, find a lawyer who is meaner than a junk yard dog, and let him/her handle it.

Just keep in mind their negligence almost killed you and several other people, they need a good slap in the face to wake them up and make sure they don't endanger other customers. Finally, report the whole incident tot the better business bureau, this needs to be on record to warn other customers that this shop does sloppy work.

Lawyer would be my first move, that is if you have the money to get the ball rollin.

I have had a bad experience with Goodyear balancing my wheels when I first got them. although nothing on your scale, they scratched the **** outta my G35 wheels.

I let it go not to cause drama, cuz a member of these boards works there.

Sorry to hear your bad story bro, hope the best.

WOW!

First of all, I am glad you are OK.

Now, why didn't you call Goodyear immediately?

If this ever happens to anybody else, do not move your car, or drive your car. You accepted complete responsibility of any further damage, by driving the car further. I know getting home is very improtant, when you are upset. I know I would probably have done the same, if I had not been burned by Sears in the past.

Definitely make sure the tow truck driver will write a letter, explaining what he found. He may need to be a witness.

Have him tow the car to Goodyear, and make the owner (not the manager, or shop supervisor) drive you to the rental company, and pay for the rental car. Then make them tow the car to another shop (Infiniti dealership) to have the car inspected and repaired at Goodyear's expense.

If you have to, threaten with the Better Business Bureau.

Be reasonable, and let the guy know that how he handles this screw-up will determine your recourse.

Definitley check for loose bleeders, but don't clean or tighten anything else. It may be your word against theirs.

If they offer to replace the wheel, don't fall for some cheap $35 crap they sell, but insist a new OEM, or the equivalent in cash.

Goodyear closed at 4, there was no way to call them in time, I checked and they have some BS sale going on, so they are open on the holiday

I only have 1k or so I can spend on a lawyer, not going to go too far with a big company like goodyear I dont think

Tomorrow im calling, explaining all the **** that happened and demmanding a tow to the local infiniti dealer (they all do repairs right?, even on an old 90?), along with one of their managers or the owner to pay for my rentle car. They will sighn something making a promise to pay for all repairs required (have the infiniti shop list everything off and estimate what the dammage is) (Take pictures of everything, request its put on a lift so I can see how bad hte undeside looks)

They probably wont like this idea, the call will end in a hangup... So i will drive down there, probably with a buddy (not in the Q). Demmand a towtruck or call up a lawyer and report to the BBB

The tires really do need to be replaced, f*ck they tore it up I dont care how bad they were beforehand its worse now. The tires are on their last couple hundred/thousand miles as it is (I ship out july 12, no sense in buying something new and having it sit forever before im back - ~6-9 months). However if they only replace one the car would be totally unsafe, like I said the tread is already at the point I would normally have replaced it 5-10k miles ago - should they replace all 4 or am I going to pay for 3 of them?...

The undercarriage... I have no idea. It should all be fine right? Probably not so good, too many sparks. Im sure it was fine beforehand - any dammage is theirs to fix

Suspension... It looks like it had rubber coverings right? Not anymore, I see a bare (but shiney, like it just got shown) bar... on all wheels. Not sure how horrible it is, maybe the plastic or rubber just tore off or something - if possible I would really want them to fix that too (but how likely is this?)

grill'less grill thing - really felt that bump, its too dark to look but I didnt see plastic parts all over so im assuming it just pinched... hopefully it flexed back or its being repaired.

The mechanics even told me when they bleed the brakes it looked like they only had a few thousand miles on them... well one is totally messed up so thats at least 1 to fix

But the Q is so expensive... even fixing that wheel thing will cost more then I paid for the car (ive only put maybe 1k into her so far since I purchased her - I have an oil leak along with coolent... thats an age related issue not goodyears... but its an arm and a leg to fix). I really doubt these a**holes will actually pay for anything, I have a bad feeling its going to be a horrible battle just because of my age and lack of knowledge with cars. If they refuse to do anything, say its all my fault... what then? What if they only will pay for a small part of the repairs (like just 1 tire, 1 suspen, the lugnuts, and the piepan?) and say I can prove anything else... Too many things to worry about I guess. Think I should take a couple people more familiar with cars? I know I asked my friend that picked me up specifically about the vibration, he inspected the tire and was going to head to my house the next day to make a full inspection... he would know I guess what was really up

Anyways thanks for the concern and advice guys - I really appreciate it. Not going to sleep tonight because of worry... but at least im going to have a million backup plans right

I can't help but think of Ron White's comedy routine (true story) about his experience with the Sears in Savannah.

Sorry to hear about your car... I honestly suspect that it's totaled. Doesn't take much to do that to a $3K car...

Good luck... please post pictures... and let us know how it goes.

It was their fault. You might want to make a phone call right to the owner like jeff said. Your age should have nothing to do with it. I have seen women go up against people! stay calm, don't fight. just tell them the truth. they will know they did it. It's kinda a no-brainer! Good idea about the tow guy too. you may have to get a lawyer, but that may not cost so much. This happened to a friend of mine here. He was a service writer for goodyear (suprise!). The tech (I use that term loosely, most of these guys are right out of high school) left a wheel loose. The car leaves, goes onto the busy road, it's a 67 mustang, mint. Why he took it there? who knows! anyway, his wheel comes off trashes the inside wheel well, flys out bounces off 2 cars and heads for the department store, hitting cars like crazy and goes through the front plate glass window! and trashes the store hitting a lady! By the time it's all said and done it's 150k!! What a nightmare! Remember stay calm, give'em the facts. Just call and tell the service guy you want to talk right to the owner. He may not be there. He may have to call you back. you could tell the service writer a little, that may get you a quicker call! All of jeffs suggestions are good advice. You may be suprised, it may not be as big a fight as you are thinking! Good luck!

Nail their incompetent cajones to the wall!

But shame on you for not looking and learning more about your car.

Very necessary in these days of minimum wage laborers to monitor performed work.

their towtruck arrived an amazing hour early, while I was gone with a friend!! They took my Q45, I caught up an hour after they had it in shop, they wouldnt let me back. I jumped the fence, I only got 2 shots off before the mechanic threatened to call the cops for me being where I shouldnt be

The manager I was talking to was missing - oooh wow what a suprise. I called her up and she was in the garage, going over a checklist with the mechanic, all I heard was her saying "nope, that was way gone before this, nope that looks like it happened a long time ago, no - thats not our fault". Eventually she decided on a rear brake replacement, new lugnuts, and some other small thing (something like $75 in work) (Nope, steering rack was shot before hand, nope emergecy brakes look like they happened a long time ago)

When I got under the lift, before being kicked out I saw coolent all over the floor with a river of oil, all the oil must have drained during the hour or whatever they had it. Coolent was still dripping from somewhere at the front of the car, I saw two hoses hanging pretty low (one on the passanger side mid way, one at the very front of the car)

I told her specifically I wanted pictures of everything BEFORE anything happened, her execuse was the mechanic just got to work and didnt know - I made her a deal. She is allowed to repair whatever she thinks needs it, and tomorrow or the day after she will be following me to infinti dealership (which was closed today or the car would be there right now) and infiniti will take a look and decide what needs to be fixed. My question is, what should be on such a list? I was thinking the springs/shocks were F*cked up, i hit so many things so fast. Part of the car at the front was cracked off (the underneath, next to the air intake area) so thats needs it. The piepan needs to be replaced... it couldnt be found anywhere. Tire dammange? I know mine suck really really bad but their life is no longer going to be 1-2months I think - at least paying for part of, or all of the dammage. Steering rack? Yea that sounds important to me and I would think it might have been destroyed in this accident, emergency brakes worked before this... if they dont work after thats on the list. She told the mechanic to get it where he can drive it and 'listen' for problems, and then she told me on the phone thats how they find most of the problems, im betting thats how they only repair what the customer will notice right away and leave the rest to fail at a later date so the customer comes back in and pays more money

The way she worded things I could tell she figures there is a way out of having to pay for anything infiniti finds - she figures all she will have to pay for is their inspection. If thats the case im calling a lawyer while she is standing there and getting anything done that can be done

On another note the towtruck charged her $230 lol. It was taken via flatbed and rolled gently straight onto the lift. I was worried about suspension because the front end of the car was mm from the ground while he wenched it up in the first place, like the springs were too far gone to hold the car at the right height

Will infinti go through the 'nope this looks like it was destroyed or dammanged or worn beforehand so we shouldnt replace it' or will they just replace what looks like it may have been dammaged? I cant upload the pics, none are from a digital camera but I will scan when i finish off the roll (just 2 so far... hopefully there will be something to show)

EDITYea, 3 weeks and 1 day ago I took it to goodyear. Its been 997 miles since

So they took your car when you weren't there? That's called grand theft auto last I heard. I don't know why you made a deal with her. It's your car. They can't tell you not to come back there if you didn't authorize for them to take it back there. I would be on the phone with a lawyer at that shop. These people are going to screw you, and at this point you're doing a fine job of helping them. I'm not trying to be mean, but you need to make sure that the Infiniti dealership is not on their side, but is impartial. Make sure that Goodyear pays for EVERYTHING that Infiniti says LIKELY resulted from Goodyear's stupidity.

Sorry about the whole situation and I really hope you don't get screwed man, best of luck to ya.

I wouldn't wait for her response or the trip to the infiniti dealership to call a lawyer. Ask family and friends tonight if anyone knows of a worthwhile lawyer...take those recommendations and make a phone call first thing tomorrow morning.

Many lawyers will allow flexible payment based on them getting a percentage of what you may win in damages. Since this isn't a personal injury case, they probably won't be quite so flexible...but, still, flexible enough for you to get the ball rolling with a small sum of money.

Tonight you should take the time to write down every single incident or phone call in order of when it happened. Try to remember as much as you can...specifics about the incidents, times, dates, who told you what and when they told it to you... this will save you the problem of forgetting half of it when the lawyer asks. I would try to make a list of any known issues on your vehicle prior to when Goodyear touched it...if you have a thorough understanding of your vehicles condition going in to their service it seems more credible to assume that any problems found are specifically related to this incident. Personally, I would try to make a thorough listing of anything related to your car in the last 6 months...good, bad, or ugly. Try to remember dates on oil changes, when you last changed air filters, brakes inspected, suspension inspected, last time you personally looked at the under side of your vehicle, and what lead you to have the service performed on your brakes and anything else that they might have touched. The more information the better.

I would try to assemble, in as organized a way as possible, all the information you can. As I said... call a lawyer immediately, and give him/her as much information as you can. The mroe accurate a picture you can paint of the mechanical condition of your vehicle before Goodyear touched it the more credible your complaint will be.

I am in full agreement. Based on your description thus far it is unlikely that you will be ending this without threatening some sort of legal action.

I agree. If the tire flying off caused your accident they are responsible for the damage of the tire flying off and all the damage that occured after it came off. assuming they are even taking responsibility for that. You should have been with your car. The guys on the forum have given you some good advice, but it is hard to give good advice this way. Get a friend or family member involved, it will be better to work with you face to face. good luck!!

OMG! It sure appears that your local Goodyear is in heavy cover-their-azz mode. Odd that they would arrive and tow your car an hour earlier than they said they would, and then threaten you with arrest?!!?? for trying to get a look at your own property. These guys are skirting the edge of some very very serious liabilities.

I think you have 'em by the cajones as long as you take superuber's advice and remain calm calm calm and deadly serious. You now can find an attorney would would absolutely LOVE to take the case. He knows he'll win and win BIG. Their behavior is completely inexcusable now.

Calmly and nicely, find out whomever is in charge of that Goodyear place, and lay out the events as you experienced them. If he/she refuses to assume all liability, explain to him/her that you will now be calling the nastiest firm in town and that you intend to hold Goodyear responsible for almost getting you and others killed. The works - mental anguish, etc. You're not talking about just getting your car fixed anymore. You're now talking about people's LIVES. Let them understand that you're gonna become a real problem for them.

This is disgusting. Someone should lose their job over this one. Any guy who "forgets" to tighten lug nuts shouldn't be changing tires for a living. He should be serving time in jail.

Ouch, I feel for you!

This is the reason that, when I go to a tire place to balance the tires or rotate them (I use a local Goodyear place too), I hang around right there and watch them do the work. If I see anything I do not like (like when they want to use an airwrench to put on the wheels), I tell them right there to stop the work and do like I originally asked them too in the work order.

The Manager of the place is comfortable with me doing this, because I told him I would, if he wanted my business.

Z

PS. You have a strong case. Please find a lawyer asap. There are plenty who will take this one on ... on contingency.

Well here is an update

I just got a call about an hour ago, the service tech is back from vacation and is now in charge of my car (instead of the manager or whatever). However the bad news is they have not done **** on my car, I got a friend to get over here and drive me so I can take a peek at any progress, all they have done is taken 4 tires off and opened the hood, and removed the brakepads (no new ones even in yet) It was like that 20 minutes after I took the car in... I know now im being d!ck around with

I have no transportation (18, cant rent a car) so things I need done in my personal life are no longer getting done. Now they tell me they need the car for another day... and then it still has to go to infiniti... and then infiniti will have to make repairs probably...

I shot off an email to corp. office yesterday morning, its been 24 hours. I would wait but now that I got the bad news nothing has been done on my car im going to call up and raise some hell sometime today. Obviousally my approach of being reasonable as reccomended by one was a total mistake, this time its my way or a lawsuit 10 minutes after I hang up

Who should I be asking for when I call? Should I just describe my situation or yell at them untill my throat is raw? I know its not anybodys at corp's fault but they are part of the chain and im going to have to break every damn link to get anything done from this backwards company

Call corp., tell them your lawyer will contact them. Ask them for contact # for your lawyer to contact them.I don't think we can help you any more. I see you are a young man. use this as a learning experience. It's true , with age comes wisdom! Believe me, I've got a lot to learn too!

No "yelling". You have circumstances on your side. Every time the person you're talking to wants to change the subject, just firmly bring it back on-topic. Give 'em some time to realize you're right. If you reach someone useful at corp, just carefully and calmly explain everything and then ask if they'll call the local manager for you. Explain how things have gone there so far, the fact that you're rapidly losing confidance in them, that you're worried, you need your vehicle back ASAP, etc. Corp should call the local manager for you and get their side, and should be able to tell the manager to call you and get this thing rectified.

Meanwhile, you should see about getting a free consultation with an attorney, just in case this local Goodyear is managed by a moron who can't see what's gonna happen to him. You want one that makes his bucks off suing businesses on contigency.

But I think you can get these folks to pay attention to you if you remain calm and firm. My only doubt is the amount of miles/time that passed since they screwed it up.

Stay calm and do not accept anything but having your car back in great running order. I did not hav an occurence with Goodyear, but I had one with antoher tire palce that forgot to put the oil plug back in properly. Blew the wife's Mustang GT engine all to hell and back. They had to rebuild the engine at no cost at all to us.

But it took a few days to convince them that the alternatives in terms of lawyers, courts, and publicity would be much worse than doing what was right. Keep repeating to them, you are at fault, not me. Do you want to go to court? The corporate people will get involved and they will understand what is happening.

Be patient. That is the key. At this point, what is a week of talking and demanding what is right, if it means getting your car fixed properly.

Stay after the bastards.

Sorry to hear about what happened. FYI though, you can get a rental car while you are under 21. I did it a couple of years back while I was interviewing for med schools. You usually have to go to the airport though, but it was actually cheaper than the big companies...I think it was 39.99/day for a Mitsu Lancer. But yeah, keep on them, I agree with mitchald, keep reinforcing that you did nothing wrong, and definitely talk to a lawyer. If you really can't find one/afford one, I know in Houston, there was a couple of news stations that would help out people who they knew were getting jacked around, get things done. The originator was Marvin Zindler I believe in Houston. But if you have somebody like that in Denver, you might want to also threaten talking to them as well, b/c that would be the last thing that Goodyear wanted was city wide bad press. Good luck. Stick it to them!

Keep your cool. There's nothing to yell about. You are trying to get their cooperation, not alienate them. Let a lawyer handle it (see below).

Make the phone call and talk to a lawyer. Most are very willing to listen to you for a few minutes and then explain their fee structure to get your business. Personally, I would talk to a personal auto injury lawyer, like one that advertizes on freeway billboards. If you don't like what you hear talk to another one. Things will start working in your favor, very quickly, as soon as he/she gets involved (rental car).

I would think that your initial post in this thread (and maybe all of our responses) would be a good written statement that you could give to the lawyer you finally choose to get him started.

Make the call. Good luck.

Well, they took it to Infiniti (although I requested to be there, the manger never passed that on to the service tech) and gave me my car back yesterday before noon.

Here is a list of goodyears repairs. 5 Studs2 Brake Rotor15 Nuts1 Brake Pad1 Spindle Nut1 Wheel Alignment Auto1 15' 5 Spoke Alloy Aluminum WheelTowing Fees & TollsResurface Left front rotorResurface right front rototTire InstallationNew Valve StemWheel BalanceAll wheel hand torqued to 80 FT LBS.----------------------------------------------Parts total was 412.03Labor Total was 347.65

Total overall was 759.68They also paid for the infiniti check worth $55Total: $814.68

Now the infintiti check is what worried me, I think they just told infintiti to do a quick safety check but they still came up with problems, Im going to actually upload this one (the checklist at least)

The needs attention = Alt/AC belts cracking, p/s rack seeps oil, rear struts, rear tires, 3 rd brake light

Now the light is my fault, that died maybe 1k miles before goodyear. The wear on rear tires I assume is mostly me, so I bought new ones later that day. They still owe me a piepan right now, but the manager never really told hte service tech anything so im actually not mad about that

Whatever the case ive been in contact kind of with corp, today it should be person to person and not machine to machine - the message I got was " are you satisfied with what has been done?" - I really didnt know what to say so I said no, at least this way I can talk to her instead of being written off. I know they put alot of money into the repairs, but they d!ck me around so much im sick of being the nice guy and just going along with things. I didnt want a safety inspection done by infintiti, I wanted a real inspection including one that coverd all the work done by goodyear

Personal notes - drives like crap in bumps, potholes, etc. not nearly as smooth as it was before. I have to keep pouring oil in the beast, its leaking waaay to much, maybe 1/2 or a full quart a day (looking at my puddle this morning). The coolent is empty again. Goodyear lied on the day they got the car, the miles the car had, and when the car was promised back - I dont trust anything they say or list on a repair sheet. Funny smell, smells almost like fish, maybe its the new tire or something (took a somewhat hard corner to feel the new tire). Breaking distance is possibly unsafe, it breaks stronger with a lighter touch but really dosnt break worth a damn when you really need it to

thoughts? Any of the listed things by infintiti probably caused by accident or all of the problems are just related to old age?

Sounds like you haven't taken the one piece of advice everyone here has given you... contact a lawyer. I know you say you're sick of the way Goodyear is treating you, but you still sound like you are being pushed around. You should have been present during Goodyears inspection, you should have been present during Goodyears repairs (though I wouldn't have let them touch my car), and you should have been present while infiniti was doing their inspection of the car.

Either you're not being assertive enough or Goodyear is being a bit too crafty for you. So, let me make this as clear as possible.

YOU ARE GETTING SCREWED!!

All of this can be avoided if you simply contact a lawyer and let him/her handle this. In fact, the longer this goes without you contacting a lawyer the less likely you are to get a positive resolution.

At this point it is seeming as though your odds of ever getting a car back from Goodyear that is safe for daily driving let alone back to its original condition are pretty slim. And, unfortunately, I think you are as much to blame as Goodyear. You are allowing yourself to get nailed right in the ***.

^^^ He pretty much covered it.

I would tell you that they are raping you, but it seems like you're bending over for them. The d!ck almost killed you. Do you realize that? They could've killed you, they could've killed those two kids on the side walk, and they could have killed someone in an oncoming car. They could have caused your car to become absolutely irreperable. If you don't call a lawyer now, then anything else that happens is your fault. We are trying to help you. We do not want to see the dirtbags walk all over you. Call a lawyer. You have no reason not to.

If it wasn't leaking oil before, and it is now, then that is an issue caused by the stress to the engine transmission.

If the coolant is leaking more, than that is caused by the same thing.

Get the belts replaced. It is about $40 worth of parts, and a couple hours.

If the steering rack or oil pan have scrapes on them from the incident, incist they be replaced. Same with the exhaust system. The rotor that hit the ground might be out of spec. Mention the braking and driveability of the car.

If there are any scrapes on the paint or bodywork, then insist it be painted.

Remind them they are working on a $50,000.00 car.

Oh, by the way, OBTAIN A LAWYER!

You might find one willing to take it Pro Bono (Free). Go to a reputable firm, not some ambulance chaser. You might even try the local law school. They might help you out, since you are a student.

Here's an idea:

Go back to the Infiniti delaership. Talk to the service writer. Give him your best presentation voice, like you are interviewing for a job. Dress like you own an expensive car, and speak like a businessman. Explain your position. Ask them to do a thorough inspection of the car, and to look for damage caused by Goodyear's idiots, and ask them to do it for free. If they are a good shop, and want your future business, they might spend 30 minutes going over your car.

Get a very good digital camera, and take pictures of the car, the scene of the incident, the Goodyear facility, the mechanic that worked on your car, the managerof the Goodyear, the tow truck driver, etc. If you start getting names and photos, you might get a little better response to your requests.

We want to hear good news from you.
