I sold my 240 today and got a new car. What car is that you say?? Why it is a buick regal. I traded my baby for a granny car. But wait?! the regal is supercharged and is fast as crap. Oh well almost a fair price to pay. I will miss my nissan and will miss the helpfullness of you all. I will drop in from time to time but not quite as often. Peace out and merry christmas/

Love the Regal GS! That 3800 II has plenty of low-end power and can tolerate a serious beating. Gets a little wheezy after 80mph, but runs to 60 and in the 1/4 right alongside the Q.

the regal gs is a total sleeper, but still it's wrong-wheel drive.

i saw a dude at atco raceway in NJ running 12's with a silver one, stock as hell on the outside, just removed the headlight for more airflow.

i'd tint them windows!

Actually, it depends on which Q. 90-93 no. 94-01 yes. 02-05 no. And at passing speeds, its toast.

my money would be on the GS vs. a 90-93 Q consdering the condition of many of those. I don't seem them running 14.8-15.0 stock. I've seen a few gtp's hit hi 14's stock here at our local track.

I really want to take one of those 3800 II supercharged motors and pair it with a 5spd manual transmission out of an older GrandAm GT.....say a '97 or '98 car. They are supposed to bolt right up. That'd be a FUN combo, drop that combo into a little cavalier or something.....yeaaa. Put a suspension and some nice wheels on it and bam, your car rules. FWD, yes, that sucks. But wow, it'd be fun.

Youve tainted this thread by mentioning a J-body!

The new Cobalt SS, however, got a pretty good review in Automobile Magazine this month.

The (hideous) Grand Am's were J-body's? Thought just the Sunfires and Crapaliers?

Back in my chevy days, I remember going to this guy's website that had shoe-horned a L67 (engine code for the 3800 series II supercharged motor) into a 2 door cavalier. I watched a couple videos...sure it was FWD....but it was INSANE.

Folks are putting the L67 into everything now. Way back in the day a guy put one into a first gen w-body Lumina Z34. Then other folks started doing it. Some 1.5 Gen w-body Monte Carlos started doing the swap. I hear Fiero guys have been putting L67s into their machines. It's all amazing really.

The Cavalier at those speeds must be like the Infiniti with the windows down and two flat tires.

Yeah the whole question of reliability of GM and Nissan doesnt really sway me because my nissan sucked *** and my gm does not. as far as the wrong wheel drive. Until I can afford a good dependable rear wheel drive like a g35 or Q45 I will cruise the buick. I guess I will represent the grandma crowd for now.

I can live with you converting to GM, but you could have at least made sure you sold the 240 to somebody who gave a damn.

You can go buy it if you want. Also when I offered no one gave a damn. I hope someday, when i'm rich, to get a nice s13 and a nice s14 and do them up right, but right now I am too poor and getting ready to start school. I needed a reliable vehicle.

I dont blame you, you got a faster more reliable car, for the simple fact it is newer. Nice car And if you are in nebraska it is probably the right chose with the fwd, my 240 sucked *** in iowa I think they did make the new sc gtps one year with a manual.
