My 2011 Nissan Leaf is now mostly useless with the range down around 40 useable miles. Nissan screwed me on covering the battery under the warranty (they knew the messed up and were forced to extend to 5 years). I would NEVER EVER EVER buy another Leaf nor will I put a penny into this car.

I look foward to seeing the new Hyndai Kona EV soon and plan to buy one, which has over 250 miles range and a liquid cooling battery system (Nissan still doesn't have that for their upcoming 60 KWT Battery). I cannot wait for the car to come out so I can move on from the mostly useless Leaf which cannot do any real daily driving duty.

Well an update even though nobody is on this board. I just leased a 2019 Leaf for 3 years as I donate my Leaf to Fenix power who is going to put a 65kwt battery in (I am giving it to him for 2 years)

The window thermometer ,it's in da shade , had 94F just today . Structures , cars a "heat sponge " ya know.

Yes, it wasn't very good indeed. To close this thread out, the company Fenix power turned out to be a sham, not a scam as I think they had good intentions. However, since my 2011 Leaf only had 5 bars gone I didn't qualify for the replacement battery. I since this post after I found out my 2011 wasn't going to be re-habbed found a dearship that took my 2019 SV back 9 months early off lease and sold me a new 2021 SL Plus in the same red color. While I was super unhappy with Nissan I did another leaf because of the battery improvements on the SL and the ease of trading in the Nissan Lease vs. buying it and dealing with selling it. this was before they lowered the MSRP so the sticker on fully loaded SL Plus was around 45k but I got 1.5k off sticker, 9k in Nissan Rebate and qualified for 2k in CA rebate and combined that with the $7,500 tax incentive.

I still do not believe that Nissan is the great company it once was but we're very happy with the 2021 Plus. I still think the Kona had a ton going for it but they had zero discounts available so it was about $43,000 so i didn't feel like it was worth more than 9k off the Leaf. Now we the shortage of cars I did this at the right time....but this will likely be my last Nissan product (I still have a 300ZX and Xterra in the garage so 3 out of 4 cars are Nissan). However for the luxury boat I went Mercedes as the Infiniti Q50 was not for me and the Q70 is a joke.
