Well, ladies, I'm outta here! Just picked up the Maxima from the dealer (had a professional detail done there) and I'm heading out for the Foh-nix.

Todays segment of the drive will end in St. George, Utah, where the weather's great and the people are old. My grandparent's have a house there that I'll stay in (otherwise I'd be staying in Wendover). Then it's off through Nevada, across the Hoover Dam, and through AZ to Phoenix.

Should be fun. I love roadtrips, but my job doesn't allow me to take too many. Myabe I should become a professional slacker like Jesda and mooch off my parents while paying for a Q and driving across the nation whenever I feel like it...

And this time I'm not going to forget my damn camera! I'll get some pictures of the barren "scenic" southern Utah. They'll probably look like Jesda's grand canyon pics--only without the big hole in the ground.

I'm a little nervous because my fuel pump has been humming occasionally lately. I ordered a replacement on ebay a few weeks ago, but it's not here, so I guess I get to chance it.

And you guys should see the Maxima! The dealer did an amazing job detailing it. Looks like it did the day it first rolled off the lot (on the inside anyway...the outsides a tiny bit worse for wear after 13 years ). Black parts of the dash are glossy, upholstry is flawless...I love my Maxima!

Anyway...as of 12:00 noon today, I'll be on the road to NOPI. I entered the Max in the Nissan Luxury Street class just for the hell of it.

And I can't wait to get out of this WEATHER! I drove through a foot of snow coming home from work yesterday. A foot of snow on the FREEWAY....but now I'm just rambling.

See you all in a week (I'll be getting back tuesday evening).

Its a Nissan! If the fuel pump didn't hum, it'd be a Honda, and then your transmission would jerk around instead.

Well, for pics you can see Torry's article on the main page. Three galleries at the bottom.

I was going to get some pics of the Hoover Dam, but then I remember that it's really just a wall of concrete. And the scenery is about as exciting as PMQ taking a dump.
