Pffft girl jokes come from people who have no idea what a miata can do. Plus the jokes are all the same so you get used to it.

For real. I can't believe all the Miata hatred around. It's a phenomenal platform that is capable of running rings around a 240. And it's alot less expensive to own and mod a Miata than a 240. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging a good platform besides the one you just happen to drive.

hmm i like the miata's that came after that body style... but i'd put a nice street ported 13b on boost in it or a V8....

i used to have a camaro and i still miss the cackle of my cammed v8... lol

i always tell my FC3S buddies im get one of those and put a V8 in it...

dont put the car in reverse with the engine off... IIRC that model had the same issue as the S5 FC3S sticking in reverse...

Agreed! Screw that pos 13B(yes I said it) and throw a LS1 into that Miata. Have some real useable power that will last more than a few thousand miles.

Man, I don't know if I can co-sign all this LS1/13b swap talk. Making a fast Miata doesn't have to be that hard. Have you guys been on Miata forums?! Their 1.8L is beastly with a turbo. Take a '97-'99 stock block, swap on a '00-'01 head, throw a GT2871R on it and you're capable of a really responsive 300hp+. Easy. And the 2nd Gen Miata has a 6spd transmission available that will bolt up to the 1st gen motors. Thats what I like about the Miatas. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to make them fast.

Mmm, little update.

Spun a bearing in my 1.6l.So in the meantime I'm swapping in another 1.6l with only 130km's on it, and going to run a turbo setup; hopefully.Right now worried about getting the car on the road.

Doing the swap the first week of the new year, will take pics of before/during/afters of the whole car since I don't actually have any full pics of the car.

For those wondering why I post here, it's because I love the community here.

I would slap a metal HG on it with a t25 and call it a day. You could always go w/ one of the gt28 models later if you want more power.

Are you on some Miata boards? Best route to me seems to be '97-'99 block with a metal headgasket on a '00-'01 head and a T28 at 12 psi. Should get you pretty close to 250whp if you set it up and tune it right.

Over-rev'd it.The stock engine was at 260km's so, she was on her way to the grave.

Definitely not a fan of the yellow. I would get that changed asap. Are you keeping it that color?

But miatas can look cool if done right. BE one of those guys. GL

13b swaps are sooo pointless for the Miata, IMO. Their 1.8L is more than enough to get the job done. Flying Miata turbo kit makes like 250whp at 12psi on stock internals. Swap on a '00-'01 head and you get even more power.

Yeah I'm sticking to the 1.6. and just build it up.I painted my 002's today because the clear coat on the lip/centers peeled terrible from the salty roads.. even though I stopped driving it mid November :SAnywho, they're flat black.Camera is in the garbage can cause it's a POS.Bro-in law is coming over to take photos with his Nikon tomorrow.

Dude, if your paint is ok, screw repainting the car. Throw on a black hardtop and some black fender flares to make that shizz look like a Killer Bee or something. Nothing wrong with yellow. Save your money for other stuff, like a turbo kit...
