Goodbye, 2010 EX35 JOURNEY AWD

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

After 14 months (and 13.5k miles) of trouble-free service, reality dictates that it is time for me to part with my beloved EX35. Because of my recent marriage and the forthcoming extra expenses, I've decided to trade in my EX35 for a more affordable 2011 Kia Optima EX to cut down my monthly payments. I ended up losing a few amenities (Nav, AroundView Camera, heated seats, sunroof, and of course the smooth and powerful 297HP V6!) to save approx. $250 per month (loan payments and gas). But overall I think the Optima is a solid vehicle that surpasses its predecessor by miles.

Even though I hadn't been posting a lot on the forum ever since I've become a member back in Jan., 2010. I do find all the forum members treat each other with respect and help out whenever they can. That's why even though I'm not an EX owner any more I will still be checking in from time to time to see how all the "friendly faces" on here are doing.

I wish the best of luck to all of you and hope you enjoy your vehicle for the days to come!

That nearly brought tears to my eyes. I'd hate to give up my EX. But congratulations on your marriage. May your bride be as attractive, dependable and powerful as your EX was. As for the amenities you gave up, buy some maps and the wife can navigate; with an extra set of eyes, you can do without the AroundView; and as for the heated seats and sunroof, a hot wife with a sunny smile just make those redundant anyway. ;)

I'm about to go the same way when my lease runs out a year from now...the EX is really a nice vehicle but same thing for me need to lower monthly payments and gas payments. I might get a compact car for now I have my eyes on the hyundai elantra with 49mpg hwy! But we'll see a year from now on better options. I'm also ready to give up all the luxury the EX has from the leather seats, gadgets and power.

From an Infiniti EX to a KIA EX, at least you're keeping the Model name almost the same.

Good luck and look forward to seeing you on the Site from time to time.
