And yes sports sedans are not sports cars.

Fred..:)

i always thought of roadster's or convertible cars bearing a uncanny resemblance to a watercraft device. y'know put up a sail, get some oars....rwd roadsters get a nod from me. and i like Miata's lots. they're just plain cool, IMO.

My girlfriend really wants a Miata...and I want her to get it so I can drive it sometimes too :D But I couldnt ever own one, I sat in one and about a 20 minute drive would be the limit for me... 6'4" people shouldnt ever get into Miatas.

yeah. that would be rough. i sat in a first gen miata, and i'm 5'3, so it fits me perfectly, actually my s13 feels hella roomy to me. I drove a second gen Mr.2 and a 5th gen Celica :drooling (popuplight/blackstrip on front-end) and it fitted me like a glove. everything within inches of reach! and the driving position/view was excellent. the shift knob in the Mr.2 and the Miata are great for me. don't have to reach so far. it's RIGHT THERE! hehehe.

Sky, I swear you would get along with one of my friends far too well, its freaky.1) He drove a Miata for a while (his mom's), but totalled it when someone ran a stop sign in front of him.2) He currently drives a white '90 Celica ST (no job=parents buy you car).3) He is trying to save up for a Celica All-Trac (once he gets a job).4) Your liscence plate says "TIAMAT", which happens to be one of his favorite names (he normally goes by Arka online). He's pretty into dragons.

Sorry to jack the thread like that, I just thought the similarities were really funnny :D

I'm gonna go look at Iszuzu Impulses now..

Alright Sky I have to admit that 88 Impulse looks pretty wicked.Im a tall guy (6'5") so I have to skip the miata. Even the Eclipse fits kinda tight on me. I drove a couple of MR2s when I was a valet, but I cant remember how much room they have. (If it fits you Sky, then Im screwed!) But the 3sgte in a celica alltrac would be a good compromise. Baco99 mentioned the Porsche 924/944. I think theyre in the same boat as an BMW E36. (great cars - expensive to work on)Ive been spending a lot of time on other forums trying to get to know some of these other cars. This weekend Im gonna test drive as many of these as I can find so I can narrow down my options.

how 'bout one of these:

Jensen Healy Interceptor V8

or something like this:

Porsche 914-4 2.0

the 914-6 would be the better option, but they run about twice as much and are less fun.

Its a Jensen Interceptor, the Jesen Healey was a completely different animal. The Interceptor is hardly a sports car no matter what the definition. It is big, powerful, heavy, and fast. Wonderful interior and a funky rear window. Very much like a 2 door Q45.

The 914 is a popular motor swap car. The SBC fits just fine.

I've had two JHs. They are a pretty good example of a traditional British Sports Car. The 2 liter Lotus engine is a little fragile, but it can put out some good power. The best I've seen is about 180 hp.

They handle well and look interesting, sort of an aquired taste. Not very fast by today's standards.

Remember, a '92 MR2 Turbo will out run, out turn, and out stop a Ferrari 246 Dino.

The "Good Old Days" of cars is right now.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter what 914 you get if you swap a newer 911 6cyl into anyway

This is my 2nd 240sx, had a 92 S13. . have to say, 240sx is the BEST car I've owned... okay, 2 out of 3 cars have been 240s lol. .

but, I'm a happy camper. .

Maintenance is no problem, easy to work on, VERY fun to drive, not really fast stock, but faster than average. (exactly same as Probe GT of same year, and only a BIT slower than a 94-95 Mustang GT... yes it's true lol)

After my S13, I REALLY wanted a 2.5 RS, because AWD. . RWD isn't that fun in the snow when u just wanna get around. . but, I got a chance to actually USE my snow tires this year, and they were AMAZING. . I never even came close to getting stuck, and it's FUN to drive in the snow with them. AWD is overrated.
