Nope.

Tiida (pronounced "tee-da").

Built in Japan.

p.s. "intents and purposes".

Welcome aboard, fellow Phoenician!!!

While the Versa is a Tiida, the Versa is made in Mexico.

Yes, the Clio shares the Nissan/Renault "B" platform. It also uses the Renault designed 6 speed transmission, and the MR18DE engine is a joint Nissan/Renault design effort. In Europe, the Clio typically gets a more effecient turbodiesel or smaller gasoline motor. The MR18DE is used on larger B platform vehiclesthat are like small minivans. I forget the names.

Oddly enough, the styling of the Versa shares a lot of traits with the Magane (which I have driven), but it's on a larger platform.

The Versa is built in Mexico, but after installing new speakers, I think some of the interior body panels may have been molded and/or assembled in China based on their inspection stickers. Not suprising really if they were.

^ Correct.

The Clio is closest to the Micra (March) as far as it's Nissan-labeled cousins.

Nissan and Renault have done some interesting things with the little B platform, namely the Clio V6 24 and Micra R, both of which are powered by tranverse-mounted rear engines which drive the rear wheels. The Clio has a V6; the Micra a turbo 4 (QG20DE, a larger version of the current Sentra powerplant) and later a VQ35DE V6 from the 350Z (The V6 version called the Micra 350 SR).The Clio is actually a production model, while the hotted up Micra versions never made it into showrooms.

Thanks for the feedback. It does look like a clio at first glance. How integrated are the compnies yet?

When showing off our car, a friend of ours, said, "Wow, I had a Renault, once." I said, "This is a Nissan." He said, "Oh....."
