Good find! But I'm sure it won't shut the "your CAI is not good for you MAF" trolls on the 'net.

With the hopes of not starting a fight...

Why would you want air filter that you have to spray with oil and that can make a dirty mess (oil + dirt) when you could buy a filter that is just as if not more efficient and does not require oil?

The only drawback I can see with the AEM filter is their cleaning regimen. Buying that cleaning kit is kind of obnoxious, but they had to make some kind of revolving revenue source.

Early before 2002 Nissan MAF were a more wide open design compared to the newer more convoluted air path?

As to K&N filters I care much more about filtration efficiency how the rings look and work after 200k since I deal mostly with used cars and 2nd and 3rd owners.

New car buyers rarely care about how engines compress or terminally burn oil at the end of their life because used cars sell - to somebody and most used buyers don't test for engine wear.

Regardless of where the MAF contamination comes from or who pays for lab testing or the ethics of various labs.....................sometimes CRC MAF Spray Cleaner seems to resolve problems with improperly oil filters.

I use a white paper towel on the inside of filter, any red oil specks that transfer means excess oil to me or use the towel inside MAF housing or on outside of throttle body plate [careful don't manually change TB plate position as you will get it out of sync and possibly destroy the unit] on drive by wire models.
