I'm trying to decide what kind of clutch I'm gonna get when it comes time for clutchinating my car.

So far, all I've driven are the stock clutch, and a Spec street clutch.

I want the clutch to be streetable since this is a daily driver as well as an auto-x car. Post some feedback on clutches you've used or driven.

I hate the spec stage 2 clutch... feels like stock (doesn't feel tight at all) and 1st gear always has a problem getting out of it.

I like my ACT HDSS. Smooth engagement and have not had any problems with it holding power (no turbo upgrade though). AND...I have never heard anything bad about ACT clutches.

I can tell ya the ACT 6 puck clutch is pretty tricky, at least it is with my TODA flywheel.

I'd say the ACT HDSS kit would be right up your alley, good clamping force but a smooth engagement. Don't have any firsthand experience with it.

Everybody says the 6 puck unsprung ACT disk isn't that bad, but it is pretty on/off. Hills are a major problem since it just wants to pull the engine down and stall it even while feathering it a bit. I don't even have to let it out fast and it'll chirp my crappy All-Seasons starting off from 1st gear.

spec stage 3 6-puck clutch here. the clutch is softer than my stock maxima's, and is VERY streetable. much better than a nismo clutch (had on my last 240) that will absolutely kill your leg in stop and go traffic, with just about the same shifting ability up high.

the car is extremely easy to drive.

I've got the ACT STREET (I think they call it that for a reason) ;-) Matted to the TODA fly also. It works great, I love it, wouldnt go with anything else.

Perfect.

blah the SPEC sux IMO....the best street clutch i have used it the ACT Heavy duty pressure plate and Street/Strip disc.....this will hold 362ft/lbs and grabs just BEAUTIFULLY....

I have an ACT heavy duty plate for sale if ur interested.....was only used for 8 months/4000 miles....i took it off cause i went with an Xtreme plate for my new turbo.....it doesnt have a mark on it.....still clean and looks practically unused.....u can buy an ACT s/s disc from phase2motortrend.com for 129 and im asking 150 SHIPPED for this plate so u can save alot of money doin it this way....i have pics too....PM or email me at [email protected] or aim sileightysek

or the driver... all i do to get my spec going is rev extremely lightly and let it out. it is extremely soft but some people like that.

I liked my RPS before I smoked it. The engagement was just like stock but it held beautifully. I just wish that I had known how to properly break it in.

Right now I'm running a Fidanza flywheel and Clutchmasters kevlar clutch. It grabs great, but the engagement is a bit quick for daily driving.

I think you should go for one of the clutches like jay has in the red fastback... talk about smooth ;)

Im running ACT street disk with a fidenza flywheel and removed clutch dampner, and its a little tricky from a standstill due to low flywheel inertia and the small amount of clutch pedal travel needed to engage. Other than that, I love the damn thing :D

I am using an Exedy Stage 1 clutch and it's both strong and very daily driveable. Clutch feels stronger than stock (on your feet) but still comfortable.
