I'm hoping to drop my car off friday morning to get my intercooler installed. I've already got the intercooler, 2.5" inlet and outlet Evo clone I/C, and the previous owner had run the car with an intercooler in the past so there are already holes cut in the firewall, so all I need is the piping made and the welding done.

Anyone know a good shop in the area that might be able to take care of this for me? I'm also a little unclear on the price range I should be looking at, I've been having people tell me $100 and people tell me $300. I'm hoping the final figure will be around $150-200 so that I can get a manual boost controller soon after.

Thanks for any help or references :-)

Gave them a call... unfortunately they don't do any sort of "perfomance work" per one of the two owners, just restoration.

I called up AGP Turbo who I got the turbo from as well, and got a referral to UMS Tuning but they're claiming 8 hrs or $500+ to run the piping and do the welding :-/

This estimate seems a little high to me, I was antipating a high estimate range of $400.

Any other suggestions? I may have to tour some of the muffler shops in the area searching for bargains, or try to set it up entirely on my own. I haven't done much metalworking but with the right silicon couplings I wouldn't anticipate it being more than a weekend's work...

Tony @ UMS is a wizard - Best ni the state, some say.

Call them back, talk to Tony, tell him Greg from NICO sent you, and see if he can cut you a little better deal.

Their work is WELL worth it.

I can believe it, they had some nice projects in the garage, mostly porsches :-)

Thing is, no way I'll be able to swing anything close to $500 for a while, I'm about to move into a new place so I need to finish saving up for the deposit.

I already met with two of their guys this morning, not sure who though. I'd feel pretty embarassed if I called back and found out I was already speaking with him this morning.

I'm leaning towards buying up parts this next week and making a go of it myself. Worst case scenario I run into problems with the fabrication and have to get it done somewhere, but at least I'd have all components then...
