got to the track tonight. unfortunately with only 13psi with my 480's. one of my new 550's isnt working right so its getting sent out to rc engineering tomorrow. here's a list of the setup for tonight

my street setup upgraded with:

MT drag slicks 22x8x15 on 3rd gen maxima rims at about 10psi, slicks were making me get into 5th and was reading 120+mph but actually speed was much lower

open downpipe, slicks are so short i was scred the exhuast would scrape when i launch

only the spare tire was missing, took this out a while ago. no extra weight reduction was used

best time, but missing 5th at the end1.929 60'12.489 ET107.86 mph

2nd best good shifting2.012 60'12.510 ET114.84 mph

im very happy with tonight. if i could pull a 1.7 60' i could theroetically (sp?) get into the 11's. my launches were getting better but the track was closing. hopefully ill get to go with 16psi once my 550 comes back. never thought i would have a chance for 11's but it seems like i might.

great numbers. I suck at drag racing, I will stick with drifting. Also, are you still running the SAFC II?

Great runs. Nice times.

The Konig Network wheels and tires in the pictures of my drag car are for sale. Four wheels, 16 aluminum light weight lug nuts, 205-60-15 radials on the front NO miles on them, 24.5-8-15 MT ET Drag tires with four passes on them.

I just got my Bogarts today. Check out the PK Update thread.

nick- i am still running the safcI not II and thats it. my stock ecu is pulling timing so i dont need any timing control. im the other way around, i suck at drifting. plus the drift track is an hour away and the events are always on days i work. the drag track is 15minutes away and i have off during the week when street cars can go

ivan- thanks for the offer. i got to save my money for the winter time. i jsut bought a jeep grand cherokee for the winter and want to keep my funds up. that would be a much better sized tire for me tho. and also im 5lug

Anyway. Congrats again, and keep up the KA-T love.

ryan- thanks ill get vid's next time i go to the track. i think im slipping it out at 4k, did it once at 5k and spun might have dropped the clutch on that one though.

tomorrow the thing will be on its way back. sorry i kept it so long, but i love it

you spun the slicks slipping at 5000 rpm?were u heating them up before?

you can keep it until you get the 550cc injectors if you need to (for verification and diagnosing). Im changing out my exhaust manifold and downpipe soon so thats pushing my dyno date back some.

Damn Anthony, that's awesome. I can't wait to see what my car does at 1 bar. Oh man those are good times. Get some decently sized slicks and learn how to launch on them and bam, you are golden for high 11's. Just pull off a 1.7 60'. Hehehe.

what are you using for a diff?stock vlsd, right (I think thats right, I can't remember). If so using something more aggressive might help you drop those 60 foot times. But thats mighty impressive as it stands, good job.

ryan- thanks

i was heating them up but not that much i came to find out. also for all the runs except for the last one or two i had the tires at 20psi!! idiot. i dropped it to an est. 10psi and did much better. a couple more runs i think would have gotten me very close to 11's

yes im using the stock vlsd. with the slicks im not having any spin issues other than that one occurance

man you're all about the fuel pressure.

once i get my 550 fixed ill be boosting 16psi.

with added fuel pressure from those i doubt the safc will be able to help the ecu adjust enough during idle. u still keep the idea of adding an fmu in my mind. but i think that would be too much fuel pressure to control with the safc around 20+psi

after the winter if everythign is still together ill go with the EMS or possibly a jwt for 740cc/72#

Yo Structure...what RPM are you launching at? You just dropping it or feathering it a lil out of the box? With that 2.0 it could go either way. Just wondering, because I'm kinda worried about the axles snapping on a hard launch with slicks. Nice numbers though Keep it up.

i was slipping it out between 3500-4000rpms. i would be worried about snapping something if i did drop it. i wont do that on purpose tho.

I bet you could get into the 11's if it were possible to just drop the clutch and go. Most of your ET is made within the 1st 60', which helps it the rest of the way down the track as well. Does anyone make hard/stronger axles for 240's? This would make us KAT guys look that much better if we could use our torque

Never heard of a KA breaking axles during a hard launch. Rick from KA-T.org launched on like 14 pounds of boost with big *** slicks, pretty much did a clutch drop from like 5 grand. That broke his transmission half-shaft I think it was. But he had been launching similar to that for a while, never once broke an axle. These aren't ***** Honda's you know........

*A little off topic, but informal

But as long as you have a good diff in these you should be able to launch hard w/ slicks on these axles correct? I have thought about putting a 10 or 12" solid rear axle in my project car, but if it's not needed then I'll get rid of that thought. Just making sure.

the axles arent going to break. you obviously didnt read HolyShiznit's post.if you plan on making 300-400 ft.lbs of torque, then the stock drivetrain (stock VLSD, stock transmission) should be fine as long as you arent launching at 5000 rpm with 7-10 psi ob boost using a 2-Step.

Actually I did read his post. Saying that 240's aren't Hondas doesn't exactly answer my question though, thanks. I will be using a 2-step, just not sure where I'll be launching at since that comes with track time and the car/chasis.

listen dude. you are asking us and we are giving you answers. plain and simple, the stock KA drivetrain will not take the abuse of a 2-step alot with 300-400 ft.lbs of torque with slicks and clutch drop. you would be better off slipping the clutch and spraying nitrous out of the hole.

No prob. It's just that Klatt seems to think I'm stuck in some Honda world, I dunno. Obviously it was a reasonable question since there is a problem there with launching and axles, my point/question.
