It's quite a bit of labor. Especialy with all the upgrades they will be installing. The biggest thing is, it will run right if Marco does the swap. If you are not mechanicly inclined and have no one to personaly help you, I think this is a good choice.

*S13 Blacktop ~$2000-2500 (average from most places I've seen, yes I know they can be had for less, but shipping usually puts them over $2k) *New Clutch ~$250-500+ (depends on what type/brand, includes resurface flywheel) *Koyo rad ~$350 (for alum one)*new OEM fan shroud ~$35*3" SS DP ~$125-200*Greddy FMIC ~$450 (assuming spec LS/or older M spec does not include BOV or hotpipe flange welded on)*New front and rear main seals ~$40*New turbo gaskets...I dunno ~$45? *New Z32 filter ~$10-20 (autozone brand or OEM)*New belts ~$60*New water pump ~$65-70*New Nismo mounts ~$190*New rad hoses ~$35-40

All the parts at the cheapest numbers add up to $3655, without tax. So, they are charging around $1000-1200 for labor I would guess. I don't know why I took the time to do all this (bored at work I guess), and most people would say search (and you should always search), but most labor rates I've seen for basic installs range from $500 (guy at his own home) to $2000+ (some shops won't do the install with out installing RAS, new HG, and new oil pump as well). So, hopes this helps.

Average labour rate around my area has always been $1,500. But $4500 sounds about average for the price of a swap.

if his price includes the motor and you are not mechanically inclined then you should go for it. If you are a do-it-yourself kinda person, then you could do all the things he listed and save a little money, but you need to know what your time is worth. If it will take you a month and he will finish in two days then let him get dirty.

Most shops around here only offer a 30 startup warranty similiar to what the engine sellers offer. If you have them order the engine, then the warranty is usually through the motor supplier.
