I have posted this in the KA24E - KA24DE forum aswell, I hope that isn't spamming the forum or anything.... But this is what is over there:

I have just been offered a KA24E and Transmission for $300. It has about 168k miles on it, supposedly has been running strong... I might be able to get the price to 250 but probably not much lower. I would be rebuilding the engine over the next year or two and possibly turbocharging it aswell.

My question to you guys is is that price a good price and should / shouldn't I take him up on the offer??

Your input is greatly needed!

I'd perhaps save a little and go for a KA24DE, more worthwile to rebuild and turbocharge, all the KA24E-Ts dont shoot me on the spot please.

I have just thought that given my limited knowledge with rebuilding an engine and especially about turbocharging that the E engine is a simpler engine to rebuild myself and might make turbocharging it slightly easier... That and even if I don't go turbo soon I would have a spare (and rebuilt) engine that I can swap in without having to worry about switching the ECU and wiring harness.

Alright, thanks. I am probably going to try to get it for the $250, just b/c I am tight with money right now... Not working as much as I would like to. :( If he is willing to sell it for $250 I will probably take it! If my mom lets me....... :(

I've got a KA24e motor/transmission with tons of recent service (clutch, waterpump, timing belt, etc.. etc.. etc..) and all reciepts to prove it. Motor has 190000 miles but didn't burn oil and ran strong when I pulled for my Rb25. $200 and its yours. You can even have the radiator and some other parts.

Sheesh! Not too bad... I might have to take you up on that offer. How long ago did you swap it for a RB25? I'd have fun getting to atlanta.. Probably a good day trip for me. There and back... But, I must say that price is tempting... If you could send me some pictures of it I would be more comfortable. Just so I don't have to worry about driving there to look at it...

Thanks though guys!

Right now my more pressing problem is.... The u-joints on my driveshaft are siezing!!! I can't fix just the joints, so I have to buy the whole shaft! Nissan wants $465, most local junk yard are saying around $100 (Only problem with them is that I have been to one that said they had one in perfect condition, I got there, it was rusted up and the u-joints were worse off then mine are!!!!!!) This is just flat out agrivating me!!!!!
