Black Tail lights...

Im talking the real black tails

not smoked or tinted

cause apparently u can get in trouble with the law for tinted tails in CA

It's because they diminish the illumination! I'm also not a big fan of driving with your lights off after dark, street racing, or driving after drinking a case of beer.....guess I'm gettin old...and would like to get older....

But, you say somebody makes dark tail lights that are approved in CA. Would also be interested in seeing these.

Rich, I'm right there with ya. In VA doing any type of light modification or exhaust can allow them to bust your stones for a while if they so choose. I like to keep a low profile.

If you manage to find them please share pics, I know the VWs and old BMs have numerous options available for alternative light replacement. Make sure whatever you get is DOT approved before installing if you don't want to get hassled.

you can get some that are made to black out some parts and keep them legal.

probably the best route to go IMO.
