Thanks guys. I believe the starter is bad due to the symptom I have. Every now and again, too often for comfort recently, when I go to start the car, the starter grinds like the car is already started. I'll stop and wait a few seconds, sometimes it does it again, but most often it will start up after that. So I figure that maybe it's not engaging with the flywheel all the way, perhaps it is gummed up or something. I took it to my mechanic, he ordered a starter, they sent him the wrong one, so he sent it back and just removed my starter and cleaned it out, he said it was pretty gummed up. It worked great for a few weeks but now it's doing it again. So instead of trying to start my car and hearing the horrible grinding noise, I'd rather just replace the starter.
