OK... I've been hearing all these people talking about the syntetic motor oil. Would it be smart to switch over a 97 Maxima with 111,000 Miles? I've put over 18,000 miles on it since october... good or bad?

to me it would not matter if you wont to change to synthetic just do it.

i have 92 240sx with 130.000 on it, i started putting royal purple 10w- 30 in two oil changes ago. i love it felt a difference right away engine ran much smoother. oil last much longer without loseing viscosity (turning black)i highly recamend synthetic moter oil its just better.

it is more $$ but worth it i think.

to be honest with 118k you wont reap the benefits of synthetic oil, so I wouldnt use it, but rather a higher quality dino or blend.....

I like valvoline durablend. A very good oil for the money!

Just because your enigne is already in its prime or just past its prime (assuming good OCI).. It may run better but it will not give you any long term benefits which is why you should use synthetic to begin with!!!!!!

You shoudl compare it to valvoline durablend or something like it.
