I've researched this topic throughout this forum and have come up with this step by step process:1.) REMOVE THE FOUR (IIRC) BOLTS ON THE BACK OF THE PUMP HOLDING THE PUMP TOGETHER TIGHTLY.2.) SLOWLY REMOVE THE END PLATE AND GASKET (DON'T GET DIRTY OR LOSE ANYTHING)3.) NOTICE THE LITTLE METAL FINS (THEY ARE CALLED VEINS), THERE SHOULD BE 10 - 14 I CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT NUMBER.4.) WITH A TELESCOPE MAGNET REMOVE ALL OF THESE VEINS5.) REPLACE THE GASKET AND BACK PLATE AND TIGHTEN IT TOGETHER WITH THE FOUR BOLTS.6.) GET A PLUG FOR THE REAR HOLE (OPPOSITE THE PULLEY) AND USE SOME SORT OF LOCK-TITE (ANYTHING MAKING A SCREW HARDER TO REMOVE WILL WORK).7.) HOSE IT UP AND CHECK FOR LEAKS

Just want to get some things clear... It looks like i'm going to have remove the bolt that holds the p/s pump on the bracket along with the 4 IIRC bolts on the back. Only problem is my motor is already in the car and radiator and the cooling fans have already been mounted. I'm sort of out of room! Also, just so i don't misunderstand the instructions... Step #6... Is this referring to the hole that the rubber hose is clamped to? ...The front hole i believe it's referring to is sort of like a banjo bolt for brakes....(hollow in the middle to allow fluid to flow through)Any advice from you guys that have gotten this to work would be great

Thanx

Just take the pressure control valve out of the rear pump housing and plug the hole. I did this and have no problems.

So does that mean it isn't neccessary to remove the fins (veins) from within the pump unit?

I took the fins off mine.... tho I haven't got the line made for it yet so I don't know if it really works.

i took the pump off the car and put it upside down and followed the steps and mine works just fine... step #6 yes you would plug the hole where the line would go at the back and connect the banjo fitting up front close to the pulley.. I'll see if I get pics for you tomorrow.

Awesome man i'd really appreciate that.... I'm trying to get all the little things in working order while i'm waiting on my f***ing harness to get back from mckinney...they like to take their sweet time with that stuff cause it's been a WHILE.

Wulfgang-- how long have you been running that pump with the veins still intact?

Umm.... not very long, I guess. Mine is not a daily driver.

But it's simple. The valve regulates pressure by returning fluid back to the pump. If you remove the valve, then all of the fluid is returned with little restriction.

Ok so i got the banjo fitting and bolt in... never could remove the backing of the pump cause I stipped the head of the bolt that holds the pump to the bracket... So what do i do with the hose that is down by the hardlines? The banjo fitting hose that runs to the steering knuckle... that knuckle has hardlines that run off of it towards the passengerside of the car.... but it also has a hose that runs off of it on the driverside of the car.... one of the hoses turns into a hardline that loops back around (front of the xmemeber). I need to know where the hose goes that's at the junction where they both split apart.... damn i need some pix so maybe you guys will have a clue wtf i'm talking about

Removing the veins will suffice... that's what's been done to both of my motors. One of them had daily duty and it ran great with no problems (went into Hybrid's car after I parted out my first project).
