How about 245/35/19 tires on 19 inch +30 offset rims with the eibach kit on a 3.5 coupe. Will that be alright?

I was going to get 235/35/19 tires, but being that I'm from NY, I'm thinking just a tad bit more rubber for support against the potholes and bumps after seeing how 245/35/19 still looks low profile but also a decent amount of runnber for bumps and potholes. What do you guys suggest. I got the Konig Troubles 19x8 +30 offset.

+30 will rub on a 245 tire

I'm running a +34 and it's very close.

Wow, so you've got a 245/35/19 tire with +34 and eibach and your close or do you have 235/35/19 +34 with eibach and close?

I'll go ahead with the 235/35/19 then.

I'm running an oversize 245/40-19 tire on a 19x8.5+34 wheel with the Eibach drop.... No rubbing at all.

Pictures of the setup

That looks nice. You have no rubbing what so ever? Even with bumps and turning?

No rubbing on bumps or U-turns (wheel shroud rubbing). As for high speed cornering like auto crossing, I've yet to do it since being lowered on these wheels. Addias had some issues with that but not concerned at all since I couldn't be happier with the look and fitment of the wheels.

I think to be safe I'll go with the 235/35/19's. The potholes in my town aren't crazy and I won't be driving it in NYC, so I think I'll be fine with the 235/35/19's to avoid ANY kind of rubbing. Thanks.

tire thickness235/35 = 82.25mm or 3.2"

245/40 = 98mm or 3.8"

If pot holes are a big concern you want more tire on the profile. The 235/35-19 is almost a full inch in diameter smaller then stock. This will also add 1/2" or so to the wheel gap. I'd consider a 225/40, don't know if anyone makes a 235/40.

Doing the math, if you run a 19x8 +30 your wheel will be 2mm closer to the car (more clearance) then my setup. Breaking it down the wheel is 1/4" narrower than an 8.5" on each side or about 6mm. This more than makes up for the offset difference between my +34 to your +30. Essentially since your wheel is more narrow, you can bump it out just a little more offset wise as long as you compensate the tire too. Which you said you are with a 235 (5mm a side). All and all, I think you'll be fine. Especially if you start running the tire diameter undersize with the 235/35-19. It'll only add to your clearance.

Thats sounds good. How about maybe a 245/35-19 tire size? Am I still in the clear as far as rubbing goes with that size?

Wheel wise you were clear.

The 245 tire may be questionable but again, with the 35 series the diameter will be shorter than my tire so odds it may clear the fender. Can't be sure because of the diameter difference but it is in your favor.

Ignoring the fact that it's going to be a smaller diameter.... The 245 tire will stick out 4mm more than my setup. Like I said in my last post, you have to compensate for the tire too. I'm just trying to come up with figures that keep the tire wall clear of the fender.

FTW , I'm just going 235/35-19. Thanks for the knowledge Rob!
