Finally got some wheels! :naughty:

Not going to be able to be on the same level as AlexM or the other dude with these same type of wheels, devious I think, since they're on coils.. but I'm hoping it looks good even with my springs!

I picked up the wheels yesterday, and ordered the tires today. I'm shopping around for lug nuts at the moment, think I'm gonna go with some neo-chrome styled ones. I was gonna get a funky color like purple or something, but after putting the wheel on my car with the OEM chrome lugnuts, it didn't look half bad. I think the neo-chrome will fit in just right.

19x8.5 fronts
19x9.5 rears
+40
245/40/19 (obviously not in the pic)

I hope to get my tires & lugnuts in soon so I can start flossin! :rotfl

PS: Yes, I'm not a fan of the fake BBS caps either but they came with the wheels and it looks good. I'm not telling anybody they're real either, cuz that's just lame.. I'm gonna try to figure out a way to match the red, either with paint/vinyl or something, to cover the BBS and just keep the matching red cap. We'll see.

They look good! At first glance I thought they were oilsink's old wheels. If you keep the caps, I'd go with polished lug nuts. If you pop em out then I'd like into neochrome. Is the whole barrel gold?

@AlexM: Yeah, I ended up getting some neo-chrome ones off of eBay. I actually saw those replica Project Kics lugs that you picked up, for a little over $100. Almost got those but they were extended and since I don't have extended studs I didn't really need them.

@aphu: I picked them up off of Craigslist actually, for $550 BNIB.

No kidding, great deal for a staggered set of 19s. Makes it even better when I think about how I only paid $486 for tires shipped to my door :bigthumb:

very nice dude congrats! i initially wanted the gold ones as well but i saw the hyper blacks and decided to go with those :) are the rears poking because they look like they are which means the offset can't be +40.. which brand are they if you dont mind me asking? and i totally agree with you on the caps, i hate when ppl assume we're tryna pass them off as real when honestly i could care less because it jus looks nice with the car

Thanks man! Yeah I would have been down for whatever color, but the guy I bought them from wouldn't have any other colors until next week sometime he said. Besides, we all know gold wheels automatically mean baller status... hahah jk.

Yeah, the wheels actually are just quite flush with the fenders, not so much poking. I didn't tighten down the lugnuts all the way either, which could be the reason they look like they are poking. But I know for sure the offset is +40, it's stamped on the inside of the wheel ;)

They're branded STR. Never heard of them before, but the wheels are good quality, no blemishes or issues with the paint. Oh yeah, AlexM the barrel is all gold too.

ok cause i know mine are a +15 offset and the poke perfect IMO.. STR?? i never heard of them before.. i know mine are VarrStoens which are a very good quality/durable brand that makes replica wheels. just be careful because i know a lot of replica wheels tend to break in the most "ODD" ways.. my friend was making fun of me because i had reps and showed me a bunch of pics of what happens when you buy unknown reps (aka the face of the wheels shatter to pieces) i wanted to cuff him in the head but it was all jokes

Tires just got delivered! :bigthumb: Correct size and everything so I'm happy. I have class in 2 hours so I won't be able to get them mounted & balanced today, but I'm off work tonight so first thing in the morning I will be going to get them balanced so when my lugnuts get here (USPS is saying tomorrow) I can throw the wheels on!

I think the height is good. Unless you drive on silk smooth roads, much lower and you'll be scraping your a** on every driveway and speedbump. You may also need to adjust your camber or roll your fenders. With serious camber, your tire wear will be very uneven. Unless you have asymmetrical tires, you'll go through them twice as fast.

I have the same clearance as you do. I went to check out a new apartment, and the nasty trapezoidal speedbump they have installed made me scrape my car while going as slow as humanly possible.

Oh trust me, I know all about being low. My last car needed to be on two 2x4s before I could even jack it up :chuckle:

I probably won't pick up any coilovers for a while, my FAFSA check wasn't as big as I was hoping so I can't really drop any more big money into my car until... who knows.

Thanks aphu and RiedelRidesVolkl!
