Here i have a cutout from a newspaper

"Today, the Sydney Morning Herald's 'Drive' section published a report on new car quality ratings. The Australian new Car Buyer Survey is carried out on behalf of the industry by ACNielsen research.

The independent survey reports the percentage of new cars that had no faults reported. Tiida led the field with 79%, a clear winner over the Hyundai Elantra, five points behind. The survey results confirm the opinion of many recent articles that have reinforced that Nissan Tiida is the quality leader in this market.

The results are:

1. Nissan Tiida - 79%2. Hyundai Elantra - 74%3. Mazda 3 - 73%4. Toyota Corolla - 71%5. Honda Civic - 69%6. Subaru Impreza - 69%7. Suzuki Liana - 68% Average - 68%8. Holden Astra - 65%9. Renault Megane - 63%10. Mitsubishi Lancer - 63%11. Volkswagen Golf - 59%12. Holden Viva - 57%13. Ford Focus - 55%14. Volkswagen Beetle - 49%"

They aren't fond of v-dubs I see . The new Elantra is not bad. Especially the touring ones. I'd rock a touring one. They have really nice standard equipment (4-wheel disc, projectors, stability control, and USB media port!) but they aren't that cheap compared to a Versa.

I am not a fan of VW's at all. I don't like any of them, I also heard that they have a lot of electrical problems.

You would think for how much the stupid things cost, they'd be better.

Yeah, I just hate seeing all of those VW Golf's and Jetta's that are lowered and someone "put" on a bodykit but it looks horrible and than the exhaust is bigger than my face. I found a picture that reminds me of all the people that do this to their Honda's and VW's.

yeah well with a VW you cannot even check the transmission fluid on the DSG you need to pay someone from VW to do it for you.

I also think the reason why these numbers are high in Australia is because we don't have the CVT option, From what i gather the CVT's on the versa have some issues when new.

I'm not shocked though because i have owned 2 Tiida's now and have had no problem with either. On my first on i just had an issue with a clutch but that was my fault. I treated it badly

Nice to see the Versa scores.

On the VW note: In USA the VW scores rock nissan. I would rock a VW any day. They are good cars. They will outperform my versa hands down. (maybe short on the MPG). Yes some of the early MK4's has coil-pack, brake light switches and coolant sensors. most of this was addressed in the late MK4 chassis. The MK5 and MK6 have been stellar. (go check out the numbers)

Maintenance: check out the price of a Consault 3. I can do everything to a VW with a vag-com cable (under 300 bucks) FYI there is a fill hole to check the DSG.
