good led bulbs?

I have some really dark smoked tail lights on my coupe.i used the stock bulbs and got pulled over for 'not having tail lights'went and bought some led bulbs since led is brighter than normal ones... got pulled over and the cop said 'led bulbs aren't brighter than stock, get those fixed.' the leds i got didnt really relect much so they just looked like dots. so i dont wanna buy new taillights i just wanna be able to drive at night w/o getting pulled over. anyone have an suggestions as to what bulbs would be brighter?

Get them spider lights off of ebay:http://tinyurl.com/cwnfmcthose are for an rx8, but just use your bulb number. 1157 (round base) or 3157 (flat blade style base) whichever it is.My boss has them on his explorer and they are bright as hell.

It's not just the bulbs, it's the whole housing.

Spraying over your tails covers the reflectors also.

So your tail lights aren't that effective.

It's california law.

Since your rear end doesn't have reflective tails, if someone rearends you, you are guilty.

Their fault or not.

well its not a spraypaint or smoked.

it's the Dmax/Origon Red/Clear smoked tails..
