After my wreck last year my side mount intercooler was crushed.. so I am looking at replacing it with a front mount. I dont need anything name brand and am honestly looking at spending as little as possible. Of course I dont want anything thats so cheap its going to crumble to pieces after a few weeks either. So my question is, what is a good front mount intercooler kit to get? Something from eBay is fine with me and i'd prefer something from there because it is usually less expensive.

I want something thats going to bolt up and take little to no modification (I dont want to have to relocate my battery to the trunk or anything)

If someone could provide links to something that would work for me, I would appreciate it. Looking to spend up to $300 or so.

And yes, I searched for this but didnt find exactly what i was looking for.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW Maybe something like that? Should I be looking for an intercooler specific to the s13 or one specific to an r32? I just dont know..

Thanks!

You get what you pay for... run the stock interheater until a good setup is in reach

I'd recommend buying a good core and making your own piping... or have it made... most of the piping kits "work" but you're better off making your own.

A core made for the S13 will/should mount correctly with the hardware provided. My R33 core/kit (Hybrid) required me to make my own mounting setup...

I bought that kit back in jan. The only modification you have to do is you have to cut under the battery tray horizontaly for the cold pipe to pass through. Its not too bad of a kit for the price. I got one for myself and one for my buddy for his sr20. They give you all the right silicone couplers, mounting brackets, and t-bar clamps. Everyhing is holding up pretty well and i think its worth it for being a cheap kit.

Well, my side mount stock "interheater" was crushed in the wreck.. making it useless. I need an alternative.

Thanks for the feedback tintdude, were you still able to place the battery in the battery tray or did you have to relocate it? Also, thats a kit for the r32.. it bolted up to the s13 no problems?

ya the battery is still in the same spot. everything bolted right up and you have to trim the bumper as usual. you cut like 5 inches below the battery. you do have to use the stock cold pipe pipe right off the crossover pipe and that connects to the new pipe going down into the intercooler. heres a picture of how the pipes run from the intercooler. the cold pipe doesnt go straight up through the battery tray like an sr kit does. thats about the best view of how goes through. its a tight fit between the motor and rad with a stock rad so if your planning on getting a bigger rad your gonna have to beat the pipe in a little bit. i got a 3in thick rad and had to but im sure with a 2.5in you wont have any problems.

Even if you get a SR20 Intercooler Kit it would work with some modifications. But still I would recommend buying just a core and make your own pipings out of high quality not the cheap ebay crap. Spend $120 - $300 on a core if you want. Then you or a buddy can weld some pipings. Eitherway it'll save you money in the long run and probably will be alot better for high boosting since you'll be using less couplers.

This is what I am running, I didn't have any distinguishable lag increase over the smic, build quality seems great. I got it on ebay along with a set of 5 silicone couplers and 10 t-bolt clamps for like 240 shipped altogether. You get to keep a lot of the stock piping and doesn't require an much more cutting than the hole used for the smic.

xspower (SSAC) makes a kit for 170 shipped, which is cheap as hell. The kit aint bad for the price and thats what Im using. It requries that you enlongate the stock airbox hole and drill a 3in hole under the battery tray, but no battery relocation is neccessary.

Heres how mine is setup.

Hey man, is this the exact kit? http://xs-power.com/nissan/nissan007.html

The one for the skyline? What exactly do you mean elongate the stock airbox hole? I might get that kit if thats the one, I am looking for a relatively cheap solution and you cant beat that for 170. That core looks quite large, notice any lag while using it? Thanks

I have the same XS power one above, Basically the only modding you need to do is cut below the battery tray for the pipe to go through, and you have to use the stock hot pipe, but besides that everything is bolt up no cutting no welding no BS.Ryan

Not sure if it's legit... but this is the kit that's on my car (R33 kit):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

That's a TON less than what I paid (paid 640 for this back in 2004)... so who knows if it's a knockoff or not. Hybrid is the company and it should have a plaque at the top of the core that says "HYBRID" on it with T-clamps that also have the logo on them... and the couplers should be orange.

Good luck and hope this helps!
