Pull the projectors and ballasts out of a BMW? That's what the motorcycle guys do atleast.

I bought mine from ebay for $70 shipped, the brand is Xentec and no complaints so far... (knock on wood)

What I've done for the several kits I've piece mealed together was to buy OEM xenon parts. Those cheap ebay HID kits usually come with 6000k or higher rated bulbs which emit pretty colors, but almost no usable light. Do you want HIDs to be able to see pretty darn well? If yes, get OEM stuff and 4300k or 4100k bulbs(stock and very white color for most cars).

If you want blue or purple headlights, the ebay HID kits are the way to go.

My train of thought has also been that BMW, INFINITI, NISSAN etc... none of the auto manufacturers want to pay out of pocket during a customer's warranty to replace any of the expensive ballasts... so they put in better quality units that last considerably longer than ebay kits.

I would recommend the matsu****a ballasts and igniter sets that are found on maximas and g35s.

Check out hidplanet for lots more info, they generally frown on EBAY kits. I do too, but it's a personal preference really.
