Anyone know of a good forum for the Late 80's Thunderbirds? I got a '86 Thunderbird with a 3.8L V6 that I want to swap to a more powerful Turbocharged 2.3L I4 and I got some questions, but I'll be damned if I can find a thunderbird forum with more than 50 posts. LOL

http://www.tccoa.com, it's THE thunderbird forum, I never frequent it however, I go to http://www.sccoa.com (it's a supercoupe forum).

I'm not even registered on tccoa I don't think....

if I were you, I'd probably go with a 302 swap, way easier and cheaper on parts then the 2.3 turbo, though there's heaps and heaps of 9 second boosted Birds and Cougars with those motors...

it was just an exspensive motor parts wise due to lack of demand and design. I'm lucky and the 3.8 used in my car shares a lot of parts with a NA 3.8, come to think of it, for more power and a daily driver temperment, perhaps you should look for the SC motor as oppossed to the 2.3, it's sure to be easier to put in and not have to worry about all the accessory drives. (maybe, it does use a DIS ignition system, could be a wiring nightmare, best advice is to search and ask those with experience in the matter)

have fun!

ps- What brought you to NICO anyway? Being a fellow Ford owner and all...

Well I love the thunderbird, but I have always been a Nissan freak, heh. Drove an S13 and fell in love, lol. I actually just pulled my CD player out of the bird, my dad is going to donate it and get me a different car. I was hoping I could make a turbocoupe out of it, but then I remembered that I still have the auto transmission, and I just don't have much to work with until I get a job. I did just get a 254 piece Craftsman toolset for my birthday yesterday ; ). Guess I will just have to hope for a good deal on an S13 I guess, hit up some auctions around here.

BTW thanks for that link, I lost my bookmarks and couldnt remember the name
