Good fitting sideskirts. A fabled creature? Compliment to Veilside front.

Ok, I know that the Veilside front is hated by many, and that's not what this is about. So please put a leash on your tongue and forgoe the dissention. If it makes you feel better, I kind of wish I'd went with an r33 type front. But I have what I have, and in it's defense, the Veilside looks far better in person than in photos IMO. It's obscene how poor the pic is on the Veilside website of the 240 kit. How do they expect to sell any?

Anyways, to the question. I've got the Veilside front on and painted, along with some aftermarket fenders. Fitment is pretty good, although the fender to door gap is far from OEM and almost unacceptable. I would like to get a set of sideskirts that will look alright and complement the Veilside front, and MOST IMPORTANT: They must fit well without major fabrication. I say this because I inherited a set of imitation Veilside (Invader) sideskirts that 'fit' abysmally (sp?). They came with the car. The angle of the dr. side skirt by the fender compared to the angle at the rear quarter was off by approx. 30 degrees. The part that goes on the door sill was WAY off as well. I was going to fix and customize them to cover the entire area under the door all the way to the pinch weld by the carpet; but after many hours of fiberglass work refabbing the whole sideskirt basically, I've decided it's just not worth my time. It would require many more hours to get right. I'd like to know what sides NICO users have personally attached and what ones can be counted on for good fitment. I don't think there is a Veilside dealer within several states of me, so I was looking into other options. Cost isn't a huge concern, as I'm willing to pay for the convenience of a good fitting part. Maybe the Kouki sides will work? I'm not sure if they'd look good with this front?

I'm looking for experiences and opinions, so by all means, tell me what you think.

I like how my sideskirts looks. I dont like the front end look but the side skirts give a smooth flowing accent to the car.

I like the Navan Side skirts. Simple, plain and effectively square up the car some.

You can view them on the "August Ride of the Month."

Thanks for the replies, I'll do this in order.

ILikeMy240, I like your side skirts too. The ones I was going to put on (Invaders) are pretty much a carbon copy. You could tell they looked good even unpainted when on the car. The passenger side one might be feasible, but the drive side was just too far off. The gaps in front of and behind the door were huge, the thing was too short and at the wrong angles. Do you know how yours fit or did you have a pro install them? I'm skeerd to try them again.

Grimple, I agree the Navan's are simple and effective, but that's on a mostly stock car. I'm not personally so sure about the square look, especially when mixed with the Veilside front, which is not very square. It'd be a unique combo though.

D_F_L06, I'm sure Veilside does make sides for it, not sure where to get them. I haven't seen too much Veilside stuff online, and their actual authentic Veilside dealers are few and far between. I like the Kouki sides too. If they'd look good on my car, I'm not sure?

AZ, Unfortunate that the OEM's don't fit right all the time either. They must be closer than mine were though. And 'You feel my pain'? I guess my voodoo doll is working then?

Is fitment going to be a gamble anyway I go? Or is there a brand I can count on? On a side: It's surprising how similar the Invader I had was (at least whats left of it) to the new front. I can't believe they can get away with marketing these knockoffs without breaking laws.

When I got my kit installed I took it to a very reputable body shop and had them install it. They did have to do modifications but dont expect body kits to fit perfectly. Regardless of how much you pay for them and where you get them, with body kits you will always need modifications. With expansive ones, you will need little but you will still need some.

With labor and paint job it cost me 1350... probably the biggest regret that I feel right now.. paying that much to have the bodykit put on but they did a really nice job with it.. the paint matched perfectly and the kit was a good fit as well.

But whatever you choose to do have a shop do it for you because you do look at your car every single day and if I see something not done right every single day on my car... Id be a very sad man.
