I just upgraded my computer (sony VAIO) and its got some great stuff for gaming.. Not to mention a force feedback microsoft steering wheel

However, I need some new games.. THe old games dont support the feedback steering wheel very well, plus the shifter paddles dont work on the games :(

Right now I have midtown madness 2, NFS:high stakes, and NFS:porsche unleashed...

What do you guys recommend as good games???

I'm downloading the demo right now... maybe I'm addicted to cars, I dunno... Anyway, I gotta agree with NFS: Underground and MC2. Another good classic is Viper Racing, actually. It's pretty old, Ubisoft I think. You might see it in a bargain bin one day, I'd definitely pick it up. Several different vehicles to choose from, including a plane for the hell of it. The main part is a career mode where you tune your Viper (only vehicle availible in this mode), including paint (best paint editor in a game I've ever seen) and little other crap. Fully adjustable in most areas if I remember correctly... grrr... now I want to pull that out again... The graphics still qualify for decent, even now. With a wheel it should be a lot of fun. One of the few games to include a clutch too... ramble ramble... The old Test Drive games were good, but I haven't played the new ones so I'm not sure. Good luck and happy playing!

What are the prices on these...

I know underground is new, so it might be kinda expensive..... What about some of the others...?

Live For Speed is made by just 3 guys on their own so they dont charge much for it, way less than a game of this quality shoud be, its 20 bucks US.

NFS5: Porsche Unleashed is one of the most realistic games around. The physics of the game are a lot more realistic than most other games. It is an older game, the graphics look dated, and it isn't as detailed as I'd like but, the way the cars handle is all worth it. The handling physics of each Porsche in this game are similar to the real thing. RWD 911's (especially older torsion bar ones) are rear heavy of course, and the handling reflects this in the game. Though, if you know what you are doing, 911's can be extremely potent drifting machines! This games only about $5-15 and well worth the money IMO. Not the best but, it's still fun.

What's funny to me is that one of the best games in recent years isn't even a game! The GTR 2002 mod for EA's F1 2002 is one of the most realistic games available for PC. Though, when it comes to sounds, I won't hesitate to say that the GTR mod has the absolute best engine sounds out of any PC/console game in existance! They are as realistic as it gets. There are a ton of options to mess with as well, and there is even telemetry in game that you can use to help you tune your car!

LFS is pretty cool. The handling physics are very realistic and I like almost everything else about the game. I just wish they could include more cars, that you don't have to earn by racing and winning money. These guys have done an excellent job with this game, though. This is much higher quality than the offerings of many much larger developers like EA.

if you want realistic get Grand Prix Legends. its a few years old, and you don't really hear about it because it was soo hard to play right out of the box. no traction control BS, no stability management crap.60's era F-1 cars... before they knew about downforce... yeah it's hard to get the knack of, but once you do, it's soo rewardingoh and you NEED a steering wheel for that game

Time to drag up an old thread, yay! I was hunting around the Live For Speed servers, and while I suck (I've only played for a total of an hour or so, and most of that was spent putting together my car and controls, which I'm still getting the bugs out of), and was wishing I saw my NICO buddies. So guys, those of you who play, what do you say to creating a NICO server? If you don't see it on the list just click create and name it NICO or something else obvious so that we can mess around on tracks and/or race each other.

What do you guys think?
