Looking to buy a '09 or '10 Nismo version, almost bought one from a dealership in Wilmington, NC last Friday - but they chose to sell the car to another party - my offer wasn't high enough.

Anyone know of a dealership in the VA/NC area that is willing to deal? On an '09 I offered 90% of sticker which I feel with '11 models on their way soon was a very reasonable offer. It appears that a 20-something purchased it probably at full sticker and financed most of it - more money for the dealership and I understand that too.

Thanks!

What was the final price you offered them and what options were on the Nismo. The cost to build most most of the Nismo's andfor them to not lose money is around $38k. I got mine for $38,150.

This one was just a touch under 41k, offered 36,900. But again, I think that they were pretty sure about the other buyer being "in love" with the car. My guess is that the other buyer went full sticker on it or at least real close to that number. I felt that with it being an '09, full sticker was just too much. Already got a bead on another one so we'll see if my '03 G35 gets a garage mate soon or not.

Victory Nissan in Chesapeake, VA is a great dealership. I've purchased 3 cars from them and the customer service has been nothing short of fantastic. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to Hall Nissan in Virginia Beach, VA. They've lost 3 sales with me. The last time, I was in their dealership with a $45,000 check in my pocket ready to purchase a 2009 370Z Nismo and I couldn't get anyone to help me. I'll never go back.

As far as offering them 90% for a new car even if it is last years model...well, I'm not surprised they turned you down. Offering 3-5% under the sticker price of a new car is the norm. 10% would be a loss for the dealership.

Sorry but I used to sell cars for a living, my dad did too. 10% under sticker for a 1+ vehicle not previously titled is more than enough for them to make a profit.

Typical 30k sedan today has about a 7500-8000 markup. They couldn't stay in business if it didn't.

THe Nismo really isn't marked up that much. Like I said earlier just for Nissan to make the Nismo it cost upper 37k to 38k depending on options. The cheapest your probably going to get one is around 38k. I actually saw the build order so I know the price.

Ended up at $37,400 + tax for my new 2010 Nismo. Love it too, dark charcoal grey really sets off the wheels, looks great!

Delivery was another story all together, read my earlier post about that - what a mess that was today.

I really like Hall Nissan of Chesapekae , VA.

Granted I never bought a car there but the sales staff is cool and Z focused and the service dept gave my supercharged project Z a free transmission.

No hassle on warranty because as the Service manager said " these cars are meant to race" so wouldn't even think of not honoring.
