So the replacement 12V power socket for my V came in recently, and I had called and set up an appointment for Sat the 29th to get it replaced. They mentioned it was something that didn't take long to fix (hence, for this day, they wouldn't give me a loaner car).

Well, I called them this morning to find out if they could squeeze me in today, since I had a hole in my work schedule. They said they had a tech call in sick and they didn't think they could, but to bring it in anyway.

And despite them being down 1 tech, and me dropping off the car in the middle of the lunch hour, they had it done a half hour later. So Kudos to my dealer's service department!

God, I wish that the dealerships here in Atlanta weren't possibly the worst Nissan Dealerships I've ever had the displeasure of working with, particularly Capitol City (Sales dept. is not only NOT knowledgeable, but rude - Service Dept. is actually very good) and Athens Nissan (Service is awful beyond anything I have ever experienced).

I think that we should all reward the good dealerships and call the bad ones in, if not for us, than for anyone who has ever had to deal with being made to feel like you were a burden.

When i worked in car sales, this kind of stuff was expected, not above and beyond.

Agreed. It seems like Customer Service doesn't exist anymore. Anywhere.

This past weekend I was exiting Wal-Mart and for the first time they actualy were having people stop and show thier receipts as they exited the store...now they've been doing this at Sam's Club and Best Buy for years but you know what? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I'm sick and tired of being made to feel like a criminal the minute I walk into a store. I know there are theives out there...I'm not naive but GIVE ME A BREAK. Next time I go to leave a store with a purchase (that isn't expensive...like a CD or a bottle of medicine...I'll allow them to double check me on big ticket items) I'm walking over to the service desk and returning whatever I buy.

I'm glad you were taken care of properly EV. Service is the one thing in business that COSTS NOTHING TO PROVIDE and can impact the bottom line significantly. Recently a friend of mine blew a fuse while jumping her car when her battery died (I didn't help her...our geniuses in Security did) she brought it to her local Saturn dealer (she owns a Saturn and this was her first time at this dealership) they replaced the fuse for her right then and didn't charge her. SHE WAS GUSHING later that day about it. I guarantee you she will return for service to that dealership. What did that fuse cost? Probably a dime. Her car is getting up there in age...it wouldn't surprise me if she bought a new car from them in a year or two.

That's one heck of a return on your $0.10 investment!

That's good to hear.

That replacement is easy. I just put my console back together a few weeks ago. Just pop out that middle panel with the 12V inlet with a soft edge blade.
