Hi,I'm looking to buy a rogue, and I in the process of talking with a dealer.Here's what he's offering

2008 Rogue SL FWD Base Model

Sale price $20,995

Sales Tax $998.47

Doc Fee $195.00

License Fee $179.63

TOTAL OUT THE DOOR: $22,368.10

I have yet to give a counter offer, what do you think I should give??

It's an SL FWD with Premium Package. At the time we purchased the MSRP was $23,550.

Your price looks okay. Could be a few hundred less though.

Hey I'm from Hawaii also! I got a fully loaded Rogue, SL, AWD, Sunroof Package, Premium Package, Leather Package for 27.500 out the door.For just a couple grand more you get get it all!!! lol!No just kidding. But 22+ is a good price I think.

If you are, or could become a Costco member, I would recommend their auto buying program. The deal Costco had with one of my local dealers was for $100 over invoice for the Rogue, that ended up being a little over $2000 off of sticker for an SL AWD premium with leather and sunroof. The dealer showed the invoice price, the Costco agreed price and it was all pretty much cut and dry. The only thing left to haggle over was my trade in, and I was able to get pretty much Kelley Blue Book for that.

I understand that Costco's agreed upon price can vary from city to city, but I was pleased with the $100 over invoice and not having to wrangle to get it. I'll at least try the Costco program whenever I'm in the market for a new car from now on.

You might even get a price from a different local dealer through Costco then play that price against the dealer you are currently working with and get even a better deal.

I got it down to $23100 for SL FWD with Premium Package out the door, what do guys think?

I'm a Costco member, they only have one affiliated dealer in town, any one from Hawaii here have any experience with that particular dealer? Think I can get a better deal than $23100 OTD. I tried to make them tell me the Costco price over the phone, but they just for the heck would not tell me. They want me to come down to the dealership!!
