So being the first time I am posting on this site after being interested in the coupe for a year now...

I finally plan on getting my altima coupe on saturday, or at least putting a deposit on one that they must factory order. The question is... do you think I am getting a good deal or do I have room to negotiate more.

They are offering me a Dark Slate 2.5S w/ PREMIUM PKG / 6 speed manual tran.for $24,875.

Supposedly I get it for that price for this weekend only and during their Tent Event.

Problem is I have to wait 10-12 weeks for the coupe to arrive. They said they would lock in the price guaranteed. But I am also trading in a 2001 cavalier for 2K.... I am hoping they are also locking in what they are giving me for my trade.

So anyway... the question is "is $24,875 a good price for the 2.5S w/ Prem. Pkg. / 6 spd. Manual Tran?

If the price of 24,875 is including the 2k trade in then you are getting MSRP.

So therefore i would say you have some room to lower the price, especially since it is their tent event.

Good luck, i dont see them coming down anymore.

Try the nissan dealership across town.

I think you can definitely go lower, especially since Nissan has a special sale going on. Punched in those options you gave and the MSRP was $26,710 on the Nissan website. The invoice for the 2.5 A/C STOCK is $20,304, but with a $5k premium package (which I think is overpriced for the 2.5s) I think you have some wiggle room...

Also, make sure you get that $500 cash back Nissan is offering right now for the A/C's.

You also have to remember that the 2009 A/C's are supposedly coming out at end of the summer (regardless that they're prolly going to be the same car), so they should be eager to unload all the 08's. I think the closer we get to the end of the summer, the more the price will drop too as soon as they announce the 09's, so if you're willing to wait till August, I think you'll get the very best price, considering you'll be waiting till end of July to get this car from the factory already. Also, the best time to buy a car is always end of Summer, so why not wait another month for a better price?

No the 24,875 is before the 2000 for my trade.

So I am getting the car for 24,875

minus 2000 and financing 22,875.

You might be able to lower it some.

Which dealer in/around Pittsburgh are looking at?

I ordered mine, comes in next month, and I was told (probably bull****) that they couldn't lock in a price without a VIN # and mileage.

not a bad deal, but I think there is still room to save more $$, considering that the `09 model might be out soon. you could always call another dealer and ask them to beat it by say $1,000, and that you will pick up the car tomorrow if they can lock in the deal. worth a shot if you don't mind all the haggling.

on this same note, i was wondering if east coast costs of the A/C is cheaper than west coast.i got my 2.5S standard package (basically no options), for 21,800. how does that compare to prices on the east? did i get a good deal, or did the dealer rape me?

2.5 $23k here for convenience package, thinking about complaining since they said they would throw in tint, but when i came back they said they would only charge me %50 of what they charge normally, but i couldnt stay and complain. But after driving the cvt i want to get the MT, but damn man, 2.5 premium for 24, i really want to do something about mine.

its not bad i paid 24k for my 2.5 cvt with convienence package with kick plates moonroof and tint. but i was in a "have to buy a car now situation" and i was stuck in crappy mississippi so i had to settle, i wanted white but i would have had to wait two weeks, and i had to pcs to san antonio a week later. all in all it was worth it. i love the looks that i get in my coupe. and i love the precision grey now.

But its not a bad price, sorry for the life story....

Ok, so I went to another dealer at the last minute just in case, and ended up making the deal this morning.

Went in and put my security deposit down on the car. Final price was $24,800 OTD (Locked in) for a Dark Slate 2.5S with Premium Pkg. 6spd/manual tran.

I will get an additional 2500 for the trade (locked in) as long as I don't exceed over 3000 miles in the next 60-90 days. ( This may be kinda tough)

But I think I still could have gotten them lower, they still had a smile on their face when I accepted.

Begin the count down. Oh, the anticipation.

Went to #1 Cochran Nissan of South Hills.

Both them and Pittsburgh East Nissan (monroeville) were pretty competitive. Although it helped that they each knew I was shopping around elsewhere.
