The shop does the swap in car ready to go all I have to do is provide the intercooler. Good idea? Or should I just go ahead and do it myself?

They're charging $1800, $2100, and $1500 respectively for the labor.

The swap isn't that hard to do if you have the tools and space to do it. Unless you're not confident or are made out of money I wouldn't give away that kind of loot. also, blacktops don't usually cost $500 more than a redtop.

I would say do the job yourself and use the money saved for a new turbo, some injectors, a maf and a rom-tune. you're probably going to wish you had once you find out how easily you can max out the stock bits.
