Guy has an ad up for a 2006 g35 coupe. its got 55000km its a blue colour with beige interior. He is asking $30000 and so I offered him $25000 cash (this is all Canadian). He then said to me that if he takes the $25000 cash that i have to pay $1600 for the tires he already ordered.

The specs on the car are basically manual, 2 dr., gas, blue exterior, biege leather interior, 19 inch asanti`s af122 chrome wheels, tinted windows, sunroof, spoiler, power mirrors, heated mirrors, leather, bucket seats Anyway I hate the rims and I don't want to pay the $1600 for the tires. What can I say or do to make this deal $25000 flat for this car? Also what do you think this car is worth. I am assuming it has no nav.

I would worry less about the car's value and more about how it was driven and taken care of. The $$$ you're spending on the tires/rims may be far less than repairs should the car not be looked over carefully. Coupe drivers typically, not always, are hard on their cars. I ride road bikes (the kind you pedal) a lot and will often spend $2000 on a very good one. Many of my biking buddies will sell their used ones for 1/4 the price of the original on Ebay. The ad will read, well maintained, beautiful very few scratches, etc., etc. Then the guy who buys it realizes that the components are shot, which may cost >$1500 to replace as OEM parts. Very expensive lesson learned and a dishonest way of selling. I'm not saying your car has been trashed, but am saying that even a careful inspection by a qualified mechanic could be suspect with the coupes-- personally, I would not buy one w/o a good warranty. Just my .02 cents.

$30,000 sounds a little steep and it sounds like you should probably shop around a little more. Plus there is no point paying for tires to go on wheels you dont even like. Also keep in mind that the Canadian dollar buys a lot more in the US right now and it may be worth it to you to go on the internet and see if any dealers in the US have what you are looking for.I work for an Infiniti dealer in West Chester, PA and there has been a good number of Canadian buyers purchasing our cars and having them shipped up to Canada. Just something to keep in mind.

Ohh I would love to go to the USA and grab a car cheaper but the process seems to be a lot of work. I have shopped around all the dealers in Ontario via auto trader etc... That price for a 2006 seems par for the course at least for us canadians. I just don't know how to go about buying the car from the US and how to bring it back to Canada.

Wouldn't the car being an 06 with low km still be under factory warranty or is the warranty void if its a private sale? Also my buddy is a mechanic so regardless he would check it along with a carfax check. I agree with you though even the best can still miss something or be fooled.

Welcome to nico,

You would have a full warraty.

Also buying from the states not that hard. There is a few member here bought their G from the states.

If you buy cash the 25k sounds a good deal.

I don't know about Canadian law, but in the US, the car is warrantied until it expires from mileage or age. Doesn't matter who buys/sells.

Sean I think I will replace my G if they come out with the g37x coupe or sedan. Not sure. I probably will call him. That's next year sometimes when all these crap finished around the house.

I am not sure if I like the g37 coupe. Still debating. I testdrove it 3 times.

Dont do it, if you definatley are doing it find out how long the wheels have been on the vehicls, infiniti viods warranty first of all if they see those wheels and the suspension on the g35 is one that shouldnt be played with with some flashy chrome wheels. tell him put the stocks back on the vehicle and you dont want the rims. get the suspension checked out before buying it, trust me you dont want to go through a big suspension problem.

Listen to Chica. our newest non testosterone driven member

I would not buy it. Calm down & visit a few Infiniti dealers to price a new one. A new one comes with all new parts, Tires, and a factory warranty as well as a loaner if it ever requires a visit to the dealer. Parts are very expensive.

You could always put the $25k in a 401k and wait awhile and get a Honda in the meantime.

I just don't get why you have to pay for rims "he" ordered for the car.

Tell him you want stock rims and you should have offered 22k at start then work your way up.

ahh I am so confused. I love the look of the g35 and I really want the car but I don't want to be ripped off. I would buy the G37 in a heartbeat if I could get the usa price for it. Too bad Canadians cant buy new in the US. I looked into some g35 used in the usa and the price difference isnt much. All I really have is 25000 for the car if I wait and go for the g37 here in canada im going to be dropping over 50000.

Now I don't know what to do lol... Got a 10 year old car and im 24. Any deals around?
