A local guy here in NC has one for sale, just wondering what you guys think:

--I believe it's a '92, red, A/T (were they all Automatics?), 138K, body is decent, mechanically decent except for may need radiator and exhaust. Paint is OK, says it runs well but has clicking noise at tight turns (axles?).Seller wants $3800.

What do you guys think?

They were all Automatics from the factory.

Post Pics.

Just to help your search a bit, 3800 is too much for that.

I found mind, really good condition (no rust!), 5 speed swap, 5 lug converted already WITH 300zx wheels all the way around, top's in OKAY condition (no leaks), engine is great, for about 3000. I may have paid a little too much, but you have to keep in mind Convertibles are hard to find around here, especially one in good condition, and this one had a lot of work already done to it.

I would start closer to 2k, but we can give you more accurate advice if you can get some pictures.

Mine was pretty much mint, great shape 89k miles, leather, no rust, no mechanical issue and I paid $4200. Too much? It's relative. Factor in how much you're going to have to spend to get it "right" and make them an offer.

There are only several hundred of these babies left in the world. They may never be rare or in demand but are worth every penny!

Does it have current inspection? That could be a real big help in getting the price down, at least it was in my case, got mine 133,000 on the body, and 60,000 on the engine for $1000, in pretty good condition, it only needed rear brakes, the right battery, and inspection and emissions. He also got the car for free, so I pretty much paid a little over what it costs him to replace the motor.

Try to talk him down and if he says no, you can just thank him for his time, or if you really want it you can just pay the $3800.

Waaay too much. Try this maybe? For the same price as the one you're looking at you get a very nice 5 speed swap along with several other things from a trusted NICO member. Or if you want an auto you can get it for nearly a grand less. And it's not too terribly far away from you.

Well, I may end up looking at the one here because the seller has decided to keep the '91 vert.

I have some pending financial affairs, so I may have to hold off afterall right now:(

Today would have been a SCHWEET day for a 'vert too...71 degrees and sunny in NC:)
