Good deal or no?

Alright so ive been trying to cram rb20 info into my head the last 6hrs, my buddy just spun a rod bearing in his rb20 and said i could have it for 300 bucks. I've been planning sr for a while but this deal seems almost to good. I've got an s13 coupe project as a project. This deal is for engine transmission and all of the wiring he is even debating throwing in the front mount. I was just asking the community of nico?? Is it a good enough deal to drop the whole sr (not that i have an sr yet or anything just done more research on them.) thing? I know motors, and dont have a problem replacing bearings. Have 7k to play with and was planning on building an sr so im probably just guna build an rb. Just let me know what you guys think? I'll update tonight wether i got it or not.

If you can get a full rb swap for 300$ and all it needs is a new set of bearings and you have 7k to play with and you have no problem doing that then I'de be all over that

Yea i picked it up last night the knock wasnt even that bad. And i think i found the reason it happened. while looking under the car i saw were the oil pan had been bottomed out leading me to believe possibly the oil pump wasnt getting all the oil it shouldve been thus spinig a bearing. Oh well good deal for me.

IMO see how cheap you can get a longblock to replace the one you have. Bearings for that motor are expensive and if oil starvation was the culprit you may have other issues. I know bare RB20 setups can be had super cheap, probabally what you would pay for the bearings..

I'll look in to that depending on the damage. But i ended up getting it for 200 and the ka i pulled out so who knows what ill do to this thing.
