well, i finally get my 240 back on the road after a month and a half of playin with my motor. i got my big turbo upgrade done (t3/to4e, stainless manifold, new piping, Ex. wastegate, 550cc inj, fuel rail, Maf, etc.) i already have all the other necessary stuff. ANYWAYS, its fast as F U C K. so later on that night i am goin out and my car starts to sputter when it boosts. i was like, all righty then, spark plugs. i open up the hood and it looks like OIL has been misting out my blow off valve (my bov is closer to the turbo). GREAT. so tomorrow i am getting it taken apart to look at, but my NEW frikken turbo may have busted a seal or something, which really blows because that shiznit was crazy fast for the time being....ERR

Scott

BTW, the install of everything is badass. a lot of stuff is polished for the show look, but it also has BALLS. i'll have pics soon.

Do you have your PCV system hooked into the intake? You could be literally sucking the oil out of the motor through it...

guess what fellas...i am "OFFICIALLY" a jackass. i know my ****, so don't think i'm dumb or anything...i had a frikken hole in my rubber connector by the intercooler. a HUGE slit that i never even noticed before. just makes you think about looking over at all the easiest S H I T huh. lol. now its a lot faster, even before the time i thought it was fast...hehe.

i got my turbo from cheapturbo.com there was nothing wrong with it, so i recommend this guy. he has good prices. tell ken scott sent ya

What are you using for engine management?

Reflash?BC/AFC?Standalone?

I'm curious, thanks.

Also, what size wastegate?

...I'll stop now.;)

i have the JWT ecu, and i NEED to get an afc, but i haven't. so basically, i have no way to adjust my fuel curve. i will next week or so, i need to get a hold of some money. also, i have the tial 35mm wastegate with the 8 spring.

as far as the oil coming out of the bov, we relocated my catch can away from my turbo, i don't know the details of it, but the guys that basically did my turbo stuff said that because of the size of the turbo and the pressure it was building, it could have very well sucked the oil out of it (or something of that nature). i'm not too sure. but it stopped after we relocated it.

btw, dori, ask away man...thats why we have th forums here right?? ;)

I was wondering if I could ask you your impressions on the JWT ECU. Is your a/f ratio rich like others have expressed with the JWT setup? Would you have done the JWT ecu if you have the choice again?

What manifold are you using with your t3/to4e setup?

Thanks!

hey what are the specs of your Turbo SRdS14??? Also another questions, can I use a T28 turbo off a nissan Pulsar GtiR on my s13 blacktop, and will it bolt on? Turbine specs are: .86 A/R Housing, 79 Trim WheelCompressor specs: .60 A/R Housing, 60 Trim Wheel. Compressor Flow: 33 LB/MIN

you can use the turbo..it will fit the manifold, but the lines will have to be modified, and i believe the turbine turned....

scott uses the KMD manifold.

If he was to do it again, he wouldnt get a JWT because he would ask me, and i would tell him not to, lol....: )

cheapturbo.com is selling a t28 from a GTiR pulsa for 539, is this a good deal. I mean how much will I need to spend with other mods to support this turbo. I can keep stock mani right? Dont need to upgrade injectors right?

that isn't a terrible price on a t28. but i don't think that you will be happy with a t28. doesn't make too much power. the turbo will fit the stock manifold but you will have to clock it different. why not a t3t04e? it is a great turbo. not too laggy. what is this kdm manifold? what does it look like?shaun

the turbo i have now is a t3/t04e .82 a/r, 60 trim...it spools up at about 3500-4000 rpms, but i like it (some may think that that is very late). the boost is killer once it does it.

Don, if its a t28 it'll definitely fit your stock manifold, HOWEVER, like what IH8 (jesse) said, you'll probably have to do some of that stuff to make it fit correctly (turn, etc). but it'll definitely fit on the manifold because of the t25 flange. does it have an internal wastegate? probably does.

if you do what i did (put a t3 flanged turbo) on you car, you'll hafta change out the manifold, plus add a wastegate beacause most turbos other these stock style turbos come with internal wastegates to control boost, but bigger upgrade type turbos involve using external wastegates. THEN, you will have to modify your piping from the intercooler and your downpipe. you can buy kits that go for out of this world expensive pricing (they look very nice though :)) i did mine custom, and it still looks great...most of those prefab kits run about 3000+. my upgrade ran about 2000. ain't that funny...

also, its always great to upgrade your injectors and fuel and stuff like that. you don't necessarily have to, but its always a plus if you wanna get more fuel to that turbo. if you plan on going over stock boost, 7psi, then i'd suggest you do so. i ran 14 psi on my stock turbo (with stock fuel pump for a while then uprgaded to a walbro 255, stock injectors) my turbo went bad. its up to you. be on the safe side and do it.

what times have you had with this upgarded turbo.

And what was the total price you paid to have the turbo running safely?

well, i've only had the turbo uprgrade for a little over a week, and the track opens up in 2 weeks. its an eighth mile track, so i'll probably hit the 1/4 mi in the next few months. plus i'm goin to nopi, hittin up balanced performance on the dyno...

i have about 2000 in the upgrade now...

another 700 in the injectors, ecu, fuel rail...

other kits don't include fuel upgrade...i dont' think. not sure.

anyways, its cheaper regardless...that's including my labor costs too. ~Scott

p.s. just a roundabout figure, i talked personally to jim wolf at JWT and he tunes an *** of cars like mine. ( i have the JWT reprogrammed ecu setup for my sr20det) he knows his stuff and said that with all that i have done i should be pushing (without fine-tuning) approx 420rwhp. ~Scott

ON 555CC injectors? 20psi right? what maf? cobra or 300zx? 420rwhp isn't accurate. dyno it. maybe about 390rwhpshaun

i'm just repeating what jim wolf himself told me....i don't definitely know. what kind of ECU are you running? i basically have everything you have except i don't see an ECU to go along with it...do u have one? z32.

all i know is it feels strong as hell. i am gonna order some cams this week hopefully.

i've got the jwt ecu. 20psi on a k3t upgrade. i use a super afc to lean out uptop a little. and i put the base timing at 17 btdc. i just don't think i'm near 420rwhp. i've got a equal length mani, a greddy fmic, a light flywheel, denso plugs, jwt s4 cams (not great for daily driver) but maybe i'm just a little pestamistic. i'd like to know what i got though....dyno your car since we have sorta the same setup. :0)

Srd will put down around 400whp...I'd be suprised if its over, just because i dont think that manifold is going to flow enough air for that turbo...just my opinion though....Im going to say 386whp...but we'll see : )
