Hi, so currently pondering the idea of replacing the clutch in my 1990 2+2 N/A 300zx. I bought the car with a stage 3 clutch and after having it for almost a year of daily driving it in a urban area and I wouldn't mind an easier clutch. I still want a clutch that can handle a little Abuse on weekend Mexico trips, but will offer something a little easier and closer to the stock feel. I'm tired of a sore left foot in city traffic. So if anyone has some good recomndations it would be much appreciated. Links or the name and price.
thanks

Id go with a concept z South bend clutch kit.. Don't know why someone would feel the need for that kind of clutch on NA. Pucks suck for daily cars. But if you've got a bottle fed Z go got the jwt na kit with 700kg worth of clamp

I honestly can't think of a way that an NA would make even an OEM TT clutch work hard, even the OEM NA clamps more than it can pull loose unless it's a bad clutch. Southbend are good, no doubt, but also expensive or moreso than most organic upgrade plates. An upgrade Exedy organic clutch with a mild upgrade pressure plate will still feel very stock, but be PLENTY of grab for any NA...guaranteed.

When it comes to manufacturing there are only 2 companies that make respectable clutches Valeo and Daikin, all companies you hear about; ACT, EXEDY, SOUTHBEND, etc. Use daiking and valeo pieces and match them to provide different clamping force and actuation. Now there are those "other" manufacturers that dont have a proven track record or may have one filled with faliures. If you want a good clutch for a NA buy OEM. Your other choices are anyone that uses valeo or daikin components. You have to ask the vendors, and request proof.

Good info Anton, my Z guy said exactly the same and also recommends organic (stock style) clutch plates over all others, and nearly always. He only would use the other stuff for a really high HP car needing tons of clamping force, more than most cars would ever have.
This explains why!

Personally for me. Ill be getting a lightweight flywheel and organic disk and something that can handle up to 400ftlbs (yes i know overkill, but i plan on building up the engine eventually) and will be getting the upgraded clutch fork and bits.
