because the engines that come from canada routinely come with parts and pieces missing.......

hell it took 4 tries and a call to Dee to get an ECU that was for a CA18DET......... I had to go find a DSM for a resistor pack(they cut mine out and tapped up the wiring harness). I didnt get intake piping, IC piping, or DP........

you dont want to know the amount of ghetto ridging we went into to get the car running properly.

just trying to save others the same issues I went through.

I don't know how familiar you are with buying used engines, but all the CA's i have ever seen ignitor, wiring harness and sometime turbo/ intercooler is all extra. It all has to do with what questions you ask before you hand someone your money.

For the OP http://www.jdmsource.ca dealt with them lots personally as well as all my friends get there SR's there. No complaints with them.

yeah seriously, either you dont know how to do buisness... or you just dont read before you purchase something...

99% of swaps will come with engine, trans, harness and ecu.

not many of them come with MAF, FMIC, IGNITOR etc included, even jazzproparts has that as a seprate package for you to buy, if you want it, then its 550 more or something like that.

Theirs always some sort of writing saying what exactly is included in the swap, and they DO NOT warantee anything but the head and the block, the manifolds, turbo, ecu etc 90% of the time arent covered. Its jsut a fact of life when dealing with these companies. gotta deal with it. If you want something bad enough youll wait and save the money and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME instead of ghettorigging it just so it will run... thats the WRONG way to do things... PERIOD

first off dude.... Ive put up with enough of you being a Dbag and talking like you are better than everyone here.

I suppose when they tell you that ECU, uncut wiring harness, and IC are all included I should expect to get something else. I also ordered the motor from a site that I know the owner first hand......... it isnt like he is a family memeber or anything. Everytime we called the supply in canada he would send us something else......... I now have an KAe ecu tuned by blitz, an SR tuned by mines, and a CA ecu that never worked.

the wiring harness was so slashed and thrashed we built our own...... because there wasnt one good person we could get ahold of.

the intake and iC pipe we didnt even care about as we did our own.

as for other things I havent remembered as it was over a year ago now........ were just other pains in the ***.

I only ghetto ridge when nessacary and though it is an assumed risk........ when you know what you are doing and have something just as functional, who cares.

btw in case you were curious what I bought......... please read through the lines.........

"The Nissan CA18DET Engine with turboTransmission (5 speed) *Optional*Uncut Wiring HarnessAll Required CablesECUCam Angle Sensor (CAS)Complete Intake ManifoldAlternatorA/CPower Steering PumpAll Brackets and SensorsShiftlinkage

All JDM Motors are used and estimated to have 30-50k miles. All Engines are imported from Japan in good working condition. All Engines come with a 30 day start-up warranty."

seems they have changed the discription since the issues that arised when we ordered it

it is interesting the number of stories that have been posted in the past here with similar problems with canada motors. Tristan( local forums) spend 6 months with 2 motors(he order 2...... had one for rebuild, and one for install) and never ended up getting his car started.........

Dee has mentioned a few times how he says never to order from canada.....

then agian I couldn't possibly know what Im doing right? Is it that Im a girl or something? I mean really?

well then tell me why if you ordered this from a company whom you know the owner "first hand", why did you get "screwed" so bad. your story doesnt make sense.

you obviously dont know how to deal with people like that if you had to "build your own harness" and your "ecu didnt work"

#1 rule, if you have a problem CALL THEM... some of these companies will work with you and help you out reguarless of their policy..

when i got my SR from JAZZPROPARTS, it came with a cut harness and a SEVERLY blown turbo, called them up, they paid for the turbo rebuild and sent me a FRESH UNCUT HARNESS! NO QUESTIONS ASKED. now go look at their website and tell me what their warantee is.

im not better than anyone else, but ive got a bit of experience with this ****...

You make it look like a one way street... if you contact them and ask them what they can do, then some of the time, they will help you out.

ive had a multitude of issues with my entire swap, Called dee each time, brother hooked me up.

the way you speak of it you didnt attempt to make any contact with this company to give themselves a chance

I didnt give them a chance to fix the issue?

well lets see here.......

1. went to the company personally as they are family2. I GOT ON THE PHONE WITH THEIR SUPPLIERS 4 TIMES! FROM THE SHOP3. I GOT SICK OF WAITING AND FIGHTING SO I DID IT ON MY OWN4. I also send emails on specific pieces needing to be included and even offered for him to send me a DSM drop instead.5. the owner of said shop worked out with mazworx to get me the parts for the IC piping and helped build the wiring harness so that we could have something functional.

As for the ECU I had to go out on my own as the guy from canada never was willing to hold up his warranty or send us anything close to functional.

Sorry it isnt a one way street.........and you would be shocked if you knew what this girl has done. Not like this was my first swap by any means.....
