Well,
I cannot say I will miss him.
His genius was delivering the great M's we love today, but the M line was a great car with poor dealer / corporate customer relations integration.
They pulled it off only because these cars were so trouble free, despite extremely poor corporate customer care!
At the M's introduction, they called their corporate customer care system
"The Infiniti Inner Circle".
I call it
"The Infiniti Inner Circle Jerk"

Carlos gained many accolades when he saved Nissan from bankruptcy in the late 90s. He was the force behind the updated Nissan body styles that helped to save Nissan Japan from massive layoffs. He is also credited for bringing Renault back from the precipice by cost-cutting and re-aligning management. Of course he is also the man who brokered the deal for the Nissan / Renault merger - which many agree has led to the current low level of quality in all NIssan and Renault vehicles. He went from being one of the most sought after business leaders worldwide to his present position as 'common criminal' after embezzling millions, failing to report all of his earnings, and tax evasion.
In other words .............. He is a typical corporate thief who had value to greedy board members, but nobody else, LOL.

The joke is referring to Nissan being known for making the LEAST reliable CVT's of any car maker. I would have NO worries about ANY CVT transmission in a Toyota or Honda.
Supposedly, after thousands of repairs / replacements, Nissan claims to have improved their CVTs and now offers a very long warranty on them. Time will either confirm or dispute that.
