So I've sadly put my 2009 3.5 CVT coupe on the market due to my family having grown and my horrendous 75 mile commutes 6 days a week costing me a small fortune (and racking the miles on the poor car).

Today I just bought myself a 1998 Altima GXE, with 203,000 miles on the odometer. The guy had a file with the last 4 years of repairs and after test driving it, I felt confident making the decision to buy it.

This will remain my DD till the day I no longer agree with the cost to benefit ratio. Hopefully the Ka24 engine will deliver acceptable MPG with my mostly highway driving and the 25000 miles a year won't make its condition any worse.

I'm a gear head, or have been to a conservative degree with my previous 2 cars (06 Sentra 1.8 and the 09 Altima coupe), so I'm actually going to skip the trend with this one, as I believe in keeping it as close to stock and reliable as possible, due to its intended purpose, and goal of keeping costs of ownership minimal.

Here's a terrible picture until I can get a few better ones:

glws man

sorry to hear you're selling the car, but I totally see why. My commute is less than 5 miles one way and since it's so close I end up driving my moped a lot because it gets 52mpg lol, but If I had to drive over 50-70 miles a day I would have a jetta or golf TDI lol

Hope all is going well with your 'new' ride.
Must (respectfully) disagree with suggestion for TDI for 50+mi commute. At least in my area diesel is WAY more $$ than reg gas, and a hassle in winter. I'm quite happy with my 10 Altima 2.5SL's actual (by gal in the tank) mpg of 27-8 city/33-35+hwy in a car that rides WAY nicer with more room than Jetta or Golf.

My '98 got totalled 2 weeks ago. It was my fault. :/ So I'm back in the game looking for another ride. This time it's a '98 Lexus GS 400 that I'm likely to get. Lowered with adjustable Megan coilovers, and muffler delete, and somewhat cleanest interior of 3 I looked at tonight after work (2 were bone stock). All have 160k-245k miles believe it or not. Tolota V8 powa.

Here's what the new ride looks like:

Yeah it kind of sucks I lost the '98 GXE due to carelessness because I had big dreams about breaking 300,000 miles with it (from 203k), but at the same time I know I cannot get away from my disease, the disease for speed! It was a boring a** drive going 37 miles one way to and from work...and every time I saw a coupe or G I died a little inside ROFL.

This GS400 is a micro-block V8 by domestic standards (4.0L) but I am loving it so far. Has a few quirks I need to work out but for 245k miles it's awesome. Nothing like rolling in an 'old man' luxury sedan that sounds like a friggin rumbling V8 and just as quick as my Coupe, so I cannot really complain.
