Any suggestions. thanks, Jerrod

I think the Stiilen program is fine, you really shouldn't look at running more than 6 psi until all the bugs are worked out.

There's only a couple guys NICO knows about running turbo'ed VH45DE's in the states, so becareful as this isn't well traveled territory.

There is no tuned boost program for a VH, however they tune the same way stock Z32 ECU's do. SO if you could find someone who tunes 240sx's or Zs they could probably tune a Q.

I can get you a boost program that will get the car running that you can then fine tune.

Wes, I was just wondering if you would be able to have that a switcher like the nico ecu. If im going to turbo it it will probably be within 3-4 months due to money issues but just let me know. thanks

If my progress continues with my turbo install, I should be able to help you with tuning your Q in a few months. I wouldn't want to get you something until I've tested it out. When I'm up and running I'll be doing quite a bit of tuning. I have a wideband O2 and will do some dyno tuning when I get it close with on the road tuning.

Long story short, when you get to the point of needing some tuning options there will be help, two of us here are in the process of installing turbos. Mine is a rear mount setup, the other is a front mount setup and both of us should have most of the bugs worked out when you are ready.

What would Robert want for just the .bin file ?

I was corresponding a little while back with Robert through email about getting just a copy of the NICO ECU .bin file, (for personal use only), but never heard back from him.

If he tuned a .bin file for turbo applications on the Q I could burn and install it for people at a later date if needed, as well as any other .bins people might be interested in. (Excluding copyrighted .bin files with the exception of the creator's/rights owner's/company's consent)

Of course this would mean paying Robert for the bin files and something additional for the right to write chips using his bin files.

If he agreed to something like this I could write/burn chips and install them for anybody who might need/want one for their Q45.

I would, of course, test the ECU in my cars before it would get sent out.

I've had the equipment since I've been tinkering with the maps on my own .bin files.

I'm not looking to make anything off it, I would just hate to see another good, reasonably priced modification for our cars die out when there are so few decent ones available.

Thanks, Antonio. At this point, Shane was first in line to do it but if he doesnt want to, then who knows. We will know more once this batch of ECU's is done and it changes hands to whoever.

The thing about the boost maps though is nothing has been tuned yet. Its just sort of a "get the car running and not blow it up" sort of tune. Im not sure if shane already has the junk to do the ECUs or not, but it would make sense if you already have it to just you do it?

I have the equipment to do some types of EPROMs already. Robert uses different types of chips for different ECU's and options. I have been in contact with Robert about buying out his remaining inventory of chips, programs, bins, and his equipment after this run is done. All that is left is to negotiate a final price for the buyout once he has a final inventory count when he ships out this batch of ECU's. Everything is on hold until he's done.

Look at this site. I talked to the one of the guys and he said it utilizes all stock sensors and its around 1000 but still its such a tunable system. I might be considering this. http://www.linkecu.com

Also what are you considering for engine work qsiguy. I contacted wiseco and they said they can make me pistons for about 75-100 a piece. I just dont know about the strength of the stock cast pistons. Plus you can get dish pistons so lower compression = more boost!!!!!!

The stock ECU's, once modified, are quite capable. Basically the same thing the Z32, S13, S14, etc. guys are doing. Even if you pay for a NICO ECU or even the JWT one, you are only out about $600 max (for JWT) and it's plug and play. If you figure out how to do it yourself it will cost you under $100 even with buying the EPROM programmer. It'll just take some learning time if you don't already know how to do it. And probably a little trial and error.

I won't be doing any engine mods unless I break something. All resources say the stock engine should be good up to around 500 hp and around 7-8 PSI of boost. Once I get the basic system done at 3.65 PSI of boost (the standard wastegate spring) I will be adding a 2nd stage that will be around 6-8 PSI and I'll have water/alcohol injection come on when it hits around 6 PSI or so. I'll have to experiment with it.

I have a place for you to call. Kamakazi Motorsports in NC. 252-240-2576 or e-mail [email protected] for boost programs for the 240 and Z32. These guys have sub 10 second cars. I would not go more then 7 psi. This is something I am very interested in and am looking into doing. But my ambitions have grown to a twin turbo and a wallet killer stoked out JDM engine. Call me nuts but what the hell right. **These guys have not turbo'd the VH45DE's and have only ever seen mine, but are magic with every other thing they have played with.

thanks for the info.I'm going to get forged pistons from wiseco custom made. Thats really the only thing you need for boost and maybe some arp rod bolts. I think with that you could run more than 7psi but im not sure. Are the stock rods and crank forged?
