Hi All. I'm in my first year of my 2008 G37, yes I bought it used but its new to me. Love Love Love my G37. I have been taking her to the Roswell Infiniti dealership for regular scheduled maintenance, however she just turned over 50K miles and is in need of the 45K check up ($450) and probably new front end brakes ($400). Does any one know of a really good Infiniti mechanic who I can trust who will not charge me arm and leg to maintain my G37? I had previously owned a Lexus and found the best mechanic on a Lexus forum who charged me 1/2 of what the dealership charged and am hoping to find the same on the NICO board.

Thanks out there!

welcome to the forums.

Lots of "high dollar" items on our Gs can be done your self and are relatively easy. the biggest example is changing your air filters, the dealer will charge you about $100 to do something that literally will take you minutes and no tools to do your self. buy the air filters from your local parts store or dealer and save at least $60 of that $450 you got quoted.

look at what a 45k checkup entails and then look in this forum's DIY (tech pages) section and see how many you can do your self, that will save you lots of money and you also become more knowledgable about your car.

you could do your brakes your self for about half that $400 you got quoted for the front brakes. I did all four brake pads and rotors my self for $600 and thats with a brake upgrade. i'm sure if i stayed stock it would of been about half that for front and back.

I'm from atlanta too, i do as much of my car maintence i can my self, before my car sees the dealer...

^^^AGREED! I do my own stuff too. Brakes are pretty ez and can save you a bundle. The money you save on the first brake job will pay for the tools (if you don't have them). Factory Service Manuals are here under the FAQ.
Otherwise, compare prices at Infiniti and Nissan and you will find that you can save some $$$ by taking your G to your local Nissan dealer.

Routine maintenance is easy to do like changing oil and filter

Or replacing your air filters. The G37 has two air filters

Or the cabin filter

None of these things are difficult to do and you can save quite a bit of money doing them yourself
