I'm taking a refinishing class at college, and i'l be painting my 240sx, but i'm not sure what color to go with. I haven't seen a lot of painted S13s. And all the ones i have seen desperatly need to be painted. Reds are ruled out because of the cop attention it gets around here.

The color im thinking about right now is the Daytona Blue 350z color. (code B17) Its a genuine Nissan RWD sports car color, and looks good on the 350z. But, I'm having trouble imagining it on an S13.

Has anybody seen an S13 in a metallic blue like Daytona Blue? I'm also looking for any color suggestions that are backed up by a photo of an S13 in that color.

Post opinions but with photos so we can all see what your talking about colorwise.

And if anybody has the skills, could you photoshop an S13 to Daytona blue? That would be really cool.

dude, no way!

the best Nissan colors are those that come with Infinitis IMO, I'd choose Garnet Fire or Twilight Blue. Do you think that red gets attention too easily? Its not like a Ferrari red at all.

I don't like the Blue and Orange 350z colors that much. I'd get the silver one though.

That red is interesting, im going to look more into that color. I just think it would be cool to someday roll up next to a Daytona Blue 350z in my Daytona Blue 240sx, and proceed to defeat him easily with my CA18DET or RB25DET (haven't decided yet)

I would hope easily, i'm shooting for 300-400whp. so about 100 more whp and several hundred pounds less weight, i would sure hope i could easily defeat a 350z.

dareo, if you are thinking blue, may i make a suggestion. Take a trip to the Mazda dealership and check out the blue on the RX8. It is awesome.

Here is the link to the site where you can adjust the color on the RX8. But take my word for it. It doesn't do it justice. It looks better in the sun light.

true the RX-8 blue does look nice, I've seen it in person. Don't think it'll look quite as good without the 20 layers of clearcoat the factory puts on it though :D

I'm painting my car, i could put all the clearcoats on it i want :) That RX-8 blue is looking really nice too. I would love to see a 350z and RX8 next to each other in their respective blue colors.

How much do you think it would cost for a garnet fire paint job?

Since im painting it myself, X amount of $$ for the paint itself would be the only change in pricing. I doubt the paint Nissan uses is very expensive at all. Look at the paint problem stories you hear about a lot of their newer models.

But paint is usually around 200 a gallon, so i'd be out maybe 300 bucks to paint my car, at college that is. I guess the class itself cost me a little tuition too, but im learing cool stuff.
