You have alot to learn about wheel fitment. But it's really good that you asked questions before buying.

The wheels in the CL ad are 17x7.5+42. That is terrible for a 240 or any other RWD car. The wheels would be sunken into the wheel wells as if they're hiding from the sun...

For 240's, 17x9 is an ideal size for fitment beginners. That's why I recommended it. As long as the offset is anywhere between +15 to +20 (give or take a few mm) these wheels would fit easily, be flush with your fenders and accomodate man-sized 245/40/17 tires.

Once you've learned more about wheel fitment, you can move from your 17x9 wheels to more aggresive and complex setups.

he defiantly knows his wheels-anything less than 8" wide is a fail unless u have some rice honda lol..i say 8" cus they invented things called wheel spacers to get you more flush with the fendor..its hard to find nice 17x9 under 500 for all of them unless u want some lame 5 spoke sportmaxs

Fixed

The point is to pick you wheels wisely so that you don't need spacers. Some spacers are better than others, but I'm not totally sold on their safety. I used to run 30mm bolt-on spacers in the rear on my 17x7.5+42's to get them flush and they were fine. But when I upgraded to 16x8.5+27 and kept the 30mm spacers on there, handling suffered bigtime. Massive understeer. I took the spacers off and voila! Problem resolved.

... I just posted six 17x9 wheels all at or under $200 each. If you do eventually go 5 lug, there is a plethora of cheap and good fitting available setups out there...

200 each isnt less than 500 for all 4 if you can do addition and or multiplication...but getting 9"+ would be fat if you can find some with tires u can get for your budget

Oh, I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying it's hard to find 17x9's under $500 each. Yeah, finding 17x9's for under $500 total is impossible unless you're buying used.

Federal Tires may not be the best tires around, but they're cheap, they get the job done and are frequently on sale from our vendors on NICO
